Noel couldn’t read music when he started in Oasis, so how did he remember how to play all the songs, and how did he transcribe it for the rest of the band ? When people like Noel or Yorke say that they mean reading and writing music like this.........

Ages since I listened to this song. Forgot how much I liked it.

I really and truly dislike acquiesce I don't, but the chorus is just a bit too corny for me to appreciate it like I once did.

Noel couldn’t read music when he started in Oasis, so how did he remember how to play all the songs, and how did he transcribe it for the rest of the band ? Noel has said in interviews that he would play them to Bonehead and Guigsy and they in turn would figure out the chords and write them down. As for transcribing them himself, I believe that at the time he just relied on memory (if it's good, you remember it). If you have seen his handwritten notebooks, there are no musical notations with any of the lyrics, other than calling out verse/chorus.

Watched an episode of Pointless today, the subject was "brothers in bands" or something like that. Only 58 people said "Gallagher" for Oasis, which means that 42 people need to get their lives sorted.

Noel and Bonehead played together 2 acoustic songs in 1994 Creation Records Birthday Party at Royal Albert Hall, London, UK.
if i remember correctly Alan's brother introduce them. i think one of the best introduce.
"Since Alan can't be here tonight he asked me to convey his best respects to you all, and he wants me to introduce the next act, and he says, his quote is "They are the best reason to believe in Rock and Roll in 1994." Oaaasis!"
uploaded here (Live Forever and Shakermake which unfamous "now they're drink pepsi version")

I miss the days when I actually cared when new Gallagher music was coming. There were times in 2004/5 when my reason for waking up in the morning was knowing that DBTT was finished and could leak at any time. I'd have felt like a right fucking idiot if I'd topped myself one day, only for the album to leak the next morning.

I was surprised to find the HFB Any Road Will Take You There book at my local library. Completely didn’t expect that. So that counts as a Gallagher release surprise for me I suppose.
(Haven’t read it yet though)

I’m more into it now than any time since SOTSOG. 2017 was the best year since then for me.

I still get as excited as ever about hearing their new tunes, but I'm not as obsessive about watching the live performances, nor do I listen every day to Oasis/post Oasis stuff any more. That said I do watch Liam's performances on YouTube a fair bit, but Noel's I dont think I've watched from the last tour.

“You said the brains I had went to my head.”
Fucking clever lyric. Noel has always been great at both one liners as well a couplets.

there was a thread called "cos the brains I had went to my head"
*it's noel not oel probably mistyped obviously.
oel admits that certain lines from the song are lifted from John Lennon: "I got this tape in the United States that had apparently been burgled from the Dakota Hotel and someone had found these cassettes. Lennon was starting to record his memoirs on tape. He's going on about 'trying to start a revolution from me bed, because they said the brains I had went to my head.' I thought 'Thank you, I'll take that'!" "Revolution from me bed" most likely refers to Lennon's notorious bed-ins in 1969. The piano in the introduction of the song resembles Lennon's "Imagine", as well as "Watching the Wheels".
