I was just listening to Supersonic and it suddenly dawned on me --- in about 5 years Definitely Maybe will be 30 years old. How fucking crazy is that? And to think that in just five years time it will be 15 years since the Oasis split - the same amount of time between Definitely Maybe and Dig Out Your Soul. Actually to make that point even more poignant, there was only 14 years between Definitely Maybe and DOYS!

It's actually not even 5 years ago I became an Oasis fan. Weird cos' it feels I've known them forever and most of the time I'm more like "time flies'.

Were people actually surprised Oasis broke up in August 2009? I wasn’t. Long long long time coming.

Were people actually surprised Oasis broke up in August 2009? I wasn’t. Long long long time coming. Blood thicker than water y’know. I was admittedly only 18 at the time but what I’d read of the brothers history I perceived as much worse so any issues they had in 2009 I thought would be resolved. I don’t care from a band perspective (I’ll be damned if I ever pay for another hilarious song written by dad rocker Gem Archer) but it is sad to think both brothers haven’t been on good terms in a decade.

For someone who can't drive, Noel sure knows how to write good driving songs.

Were people actually surprised Oasis broke up in August 2009? I wasn’t. Long long long time coming. Yes and no. I was expecting a split or at least very long hiatus after the DOYS tour. As they were so close to the end, and it was a massive tour, I didnt think they'd go down with so few gigs left. But in hindsight, it's not surprising.

Acoustic/electric or a combination of the two? Just grabbed the acoustic and went where it took me at the time. I see what you did there, one song from each album. I do the same thing actually. Last night I had a serious electric guitar workout, as it's been a while, but I did a Neil young set, amongst other bits and pieces. I never played Rockin in the Free world so well and surprised myself with off the cuff Vampire Blues and Dangerbird. It's hard not to feel pretty bad ass after a thing like that.

He said if that tour was finished, despite all the behind the scenes fighting and antics, a 3 year break would have happened, then another album and tour. The dust would have settled on the hatred going down with Oasis from winter 2008 until the bust up in August 2009.

Is there a video from this interview? I'd rather not see them talking whilst looking as dreadful as they both do here.

The Gallaghers have an uncanny ability to either look like clowns or the coolest pair of fuckers ever. Anyway, theyknowwhatimean , thoughts on this Be Here Now tracklist? BE HERE NOW1) D'You Know What I Mean? 2) My Big Mouth 3) The Masterplan 4) Stand By Me 5) I Hope, I Think, I Know 6) The Girl in the Dirty Shirt 7) Stay Young 8) Going Nowhere 9) Don't Go Away 10) Be Here Now 11) All Around the World 12) We're Gettin' Better (Man!!) 13) All Around the World (Reprise) I initially thought having Going Nowhere and Don't Go Away together was a bit suspect, but a few listens have made it seem a nice pocket of their similar less rock-n-roll mood, a la Cast No Shadow / She's Electric on What's the Story. I cannot wait for it to be summer again so I can listen to it in it's proper environment with a pint of cider.

Personally I'd have left The Masterplan off as it doesn't feel so BHN like the others. Going nowhere isn't as strong as Tje Masterplan (but still absolutely brilliant IMO) but fits the bill better. Part of me would want to release BHN as a double album. Just to bother people in the general public who'd find it (understandably) too much. It's an acquired taste.

Never saw them in the early days. Happy for what I did get

Not a video but a full transcript is available at an old Angelfire site LINK For the bone idle and preservation of such material I'll post a copy and paste as well
