So bored at work so just Youtubing. (Working at Christmas, what's the point?)
How good is Liam here. ❤

Still hooked on this. Too bad Noel lacks the balls to release the AA collaboration

The 2cd version of Dig Out Your Soul is great selection of songs. Definitely on the same level as the 90's.

When the project was first announced with Oasis attached to it, everyone just assumed they would tackle “A Day In The Life” with the brothers trading vocals like John and Paul. I think even Noel assumed that too but it was Liam who suggested they cover “Within You Without You”. Not the song I would have chosen, “Good Morning Good Morning” could have been interesting.

Rockin Chair is so good, it defies logic.

Wtf I've never heard this before! I remember the day we first heard this, back in the summer of 2007. I was so surprised it was a full band performance with Liam on vocals. I remember expecting it to be Noel doing a Who Feels Love demo kind of thing.

Wtf I've never heard this before! If you like that, check out the band Elephant Stone, especially the first two albums. Here's a few songs off of those albums that are in a similar vein as that Within You Without You cover:

Just bought Defo Maybe on vinyl. Had no idea that Sad Song was on it. Why is it?

I already love the track, but Fade In/Out would be even MORE epic with a middle-eight. After the guitar solo, before when they go back to the chorus, it would have been great if Noel had come up with some new refrain or melody a la the middle-eight in Stand By Me to make the second half more unique and add to the songwriting of the tune.

I like that idea. Have the solo, then the middle 8, the chorus one last time, and then the outro. That would've fully realized the Western film-inspired epic it's supposed to be but just fell short of being (in my opinion).

Shout it Out Loud is a massively underrated B-side.
This kind of got me thinking of what an alternate Heathen Chemistry tracklisting would look like:
The Hindu Times, Little by Little, Hung in a Bad Place, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Songbird, Shout it Out Loud, Thank You for the Good Times, Heart of a Star, Born on a Different Cloud, Idler's Dream (sort of serving a place that Dead in the Water did on WBTM).

Just bought Defo Maybe on vinyl. Had no idea that Sad Song was on it. Why is it? Someone can correct me if I’m wrong because I wasn’t around back then but in the 90’s some bands would include a bonus track on vinyl albums to try to give people an extra incentive to purchase the vinyl version. In 1994 vinyl was dying and definitely wasn’t hip and cool like it is now. WTSMG has Bonehead’s Bank Holiday on its vinyl version as well.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that they were struggling to fit the album on one vinyl record without compromising sound quality so they made the decision to make it a double album, and they then added Sad Song as a 12th track so every side had 3 tracks. It would be interesting to know exactly when the decision was made to use Sad Song on Defintely Maybe, I imagine it was destined to be a Defintely Maybe era b-side originally.

I enjoy Sad Song, but I'm surprised that they didn't put something like one of the C&A singles, like Fade Away or Listen Up, as the additional track, since they would've fit with the other DM songs better than Sad Song.

My guess is Noel fancied having one song on there with him on vocals.
