In light of my upbringing, residence, country/state of origin, and a number of other factors... my fandom for Oasis makes no sense. Which of course means that it makes perfect sense.
Have a marvelous day all you fellow Oasisinites!
and Merry Christmas to boot.

I Believe In All wouldn’t be a bad direct replacement for TNOR. Fuck everything about TNOR.

I Believe In All wouldn’t be a bad direct replacement for TNOR. Fuck everything about TNOR. I get that you really hate TNOR but don't you think IBIA would sound really out of context? It's always to me sounded like a DBTT outtake, which it basically is. Same with BWTB. That track 10 spot was perfect for Record Machine. Even the inferior HFB version would have fit the spot well.

On the topic of DOYS, the thing with it is that you have BWTB and IBIA, all non-album Liam-sung songs, and Record Machine and Come on Outside, all non-album Noel-sung songs, but then AGN, TNOR, and High Horse Lady, which are already on DOYS and are either not great Liam-sung songs that should be replaced or a Noel-sung song that could go either way. I think if you replace High Horse Lady with Come on Outside, then AGN with IBIA, and TNOR with BWTB, you have a solid album. (I'm Outta Time --> Come on Outside --> Falling Down --> To Be Where There's Life (Richard Fearless Production) --> IBIA --> BWTB --> Soldier On). I wish there were Liam-sung versions of both Come on Outside and RM. If that was the case, I would've put Come on Outside after IBIA, then BWTB, RM, and Soldier On after Falling Down to close the album. That would've been phenomenal. (I'm Outta Time --> I Believe in All --> Come on Outside --> Falling Down --> Boy With the Blues --> Record Machine --> Soldier On)

I think Sacha Baron Cohen is a right tit, but his Mancunian accent impersonation of Liam is spot on!

Why doesn't Management sell us more things? The demand is clearly there. I thought the Chasing the Sun triology release was great, albeit slightly bungled with timing of the Be Here Now release (and the odd circumstances around Trip Inside bonus track). Knebworth 1996, GMEX 1997, Finsbury Park 2002, and a whole host of other gigs deserve a consideration for release. Not to mention all those songs that supposedly exist like the fabled Liam-sung epic version of Record Machine, and Come On Outside, just to name two. I don't think we'll ever get the Chasing the Sun equivalent to STOSG-HC-DBTT-DOYS, none of those are nearly iconic enough and the demand is simply not there. But I don't understand what the Oasis camp is doing by holding onto things. Why not release them and make some money while making the fanbase satisfied in the process? COME ON!!! --- What I will say is that when we do get releases, they are almost always well done: The Definitely Maybe DVD, LDSMD Docu DVD, Chasing the Sun Trilogy, Supersonic DVD, etc Noel is playing the long game here I think. He clearly has no wish to ever reunite the band; all that stuff will pay for his retirement.

The mix on Be Here Now is awful. Absolute garbage. It's a real shame Noel gave up "rethinking" it after one track.

Noel is very shrewd, I actually think the geezer knows the year, right down to the very day and time, that he is going to reform Oasis. I’d wager quite a bit to him having already calculated when to reunite Oasis.

Stand By Me is weird.
It never stands out when I think of great Oasis songs but whenever I listen to it, it sounds so good.
Quality song really.

The repetition of the album version lets it down a bit, but there's a nice string arrangement and good songwriting going on there as well, so I definitely get where you're coming from. I think this is the most top notch version of SBM. Just Liam and Noel with Whitey on tambourine all working together on the tune:

Oasis songs are too long. Noel seems to be completely incapable of writing short songs. During Noel's time in Oasis and as a solo artist (1991-present - 27 years) he's written FIVE non instrumental songs under 3 minutes in length! Unbelievable! As far as I'm concerned this is one of his bigger shortcomings as a songwriter.
The Full List of Noel Written (Non Instrumental) Songs Under 3 Minutes From 1991-Present - Digsy's Dinner - 2:32 [1994] - D'Yer Wanna Be a Spaceman - 2:41 [1994] - Idler's Dream - 2:57 [2002] - Sittin' Here In Silence On My Own - 1:58 [2005] - I'd Pick You Every Time - 2:11 [2011]

Too many Oasis songs (particularly during their heyday) use repeated refrain outros. It get's a little tiring and predictable.

I've come to the opinion that The Turning is one of the best choruses Oasis ever did. ❤
