Sometimes I think to myself, wow Liam and Noel really were just ur average lads from Manchester who became world wide superstar millionaires because of their hard work. Like proper inspirational man, good for them, and if they (Noel) have become out of touch with the common man then fair enough tbh they’ve been richer for longer than they weren’t,so that would obvs cause one to have a different view of the world. Just shows you really can be anything u want to be if u work hard innit. Too bad I’m a lazy fucker though otherwise I’d be a millionaire superstar too x I mean, the fact that Noel wrote songs like Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger probably helped a lot more than their hard work.

Gave Morning Glory a start-to-finish listen for the first time in years... proper brilliant album. When compared to DM and BHN it almost doesn't even seem like the same band.
Love it.

Another Stop Crying Your Heart Out appreciation post.....
"'Cos all of the stars, are fading away, just try not to worry, you'll see them someday".
Broad sweeping sentiment and cliched lyric perhaps but it's damn effective. This is the populist element I'm talking about with Oasis and what made them massive, but it's done with so much conviction by being wrapped up in a beautiful melody that it convinces you there is an inherent truth in it.

Noel is obviously a great songwriter and has a great singing voice and abilities, but Liam brings a certain aggression and human touch to his songs that made him a great mouthpiece for many of his songs. That combination, and that appeal you mentioned, is exactly what made Oasis so great and so popular.

Noel is a natural songwriter extraordinaire, but those sweeping states like this and "I don't believe anybody feels the way I do..." or "You and I are gonna live forever" are truly sold because of Liam's delivery. There's no shyness, no melancholy, just charisma and a hint of aggression - he's glaring you in the face and daring you to disagree. Magnificent.

Things I learned today: Never listen to D'you know what I mean, Manchester 1997, in the office, unless you WANT your colleagues to think you have lost your mind. 😋
Or any version.
Or any song you love if you are me. 😂

1. Go Let it Out 2. Roll With it 3. My Big Mouth 4. Shakermaker 5. The Turning 6. Mucky Fingers 7. Force of Nature
That would make a very strange seven-track album.

I'll give a go at this: D'You Know What I Mean? Hello Fuckin' in the Bushes Turn Up the Sun Bag it Up Rock 'n Roll Star The Hindu Times The Turning Go Let it Out My Big Mouth Roll With It Shakermaker Mucky Fingers Force of Nature Live Forever Wonderwall Lyla Who Feels Love? Hung in a Bad Place Waiting for the Rapture Magic Pie Don't Look Back in Anger Stop Crying Your Heart Out Stand By Me The Shock of the Lightning Up in the Sky Love Like a Bomb Put Yer Money... The Importance of Being Idle Columbia I'm Outta Time Songbird I Hope I Think I Know Hey Now Little James Gas Panic! Supersonic Little by Little The Girl in the Dirty Shirt High Horse Lady The Meaning of Soul Some Might Say Bring it on Down Falling Down Where Did it All Go Wrong? Guess God Thinks I'm Abel Fade In-Out Don't Go Away Cast No Shadow Part of the Queue Cigarettes & Alcohol Sunday Morning Call To Be Where There's Life Probably All in the Mind She's Electric Digsy's Dinner Be Here Now I Can See a Liar Keep the Dream Alive She is Love Ain't Got Nothin' All Around the World Slide Away Morning Glory Roll it Over Born on a Different Cloud A Bell Will Ring The Nature of Reality (2nd-4th here are interchangeable, so that will be reflected as such.) Champagne Supernova It's Getting Better (Man!!) Let There Be Love Married With Children Soldier On Better Man DM 35 (Average: 3.18) MG 22 (Average: 2.2) BHN 38 (Average: 3.45) SOTSOG 41 (Average: 4.1) HC 52 (Average: 5.2) DBTT 47 (Average: 4.27) DOYS 52 (Average: 4.73) Using that, the ranking would be: (What's the Story?) Morning Glory, Definitely Maybe, Be Here Now, Standing on the Shoulder(s) of Giants, Don't Believe the Truth, Dig Out Your Soul, Heathen Chemistry Interesting statistics: SOTSOG had an average of 3.38 without Little James and Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is, which are arguably the two worst songs on the album. DOYS had an average of 4.2 without Ain't Got Nothin' and The Nature of Reality. Obviously these statistics aren't totally comparable as is, but with adding in Full On and Let's All Make Believe to SOTSOG and Boy With the Blues and Come on Outside or I Believe in All to DOYS, SOTSOG could jump ahead of BHN (to 3rd) and DOYS ahead of DBTT (to 5th). I didn't count the Swamp Song snippets, The Cage, A Quick Peep, and the AATW Reprise since I felt like those songs were incomparable with other album tracks, given their length and content and in the case of The Cage, which is a hidden track, where they are within the album.

Why doesn't Management sell us more things? The demand is clearly there.
I thought the Chasing the Sun triology release was great, albeit slightly bungled with timing of the Be Here Now release (and the odd circumstances around Trip Inside bonus track).
Knebworth 1996, GMEX 1997, Finsbury Park 2002, and a whole host of other gigs deserve a consideration for release. Not to mention all those songs that supposedly exist like the fabled Liam-sung epic version of Record Machine, and Come On Outside, just to name two.
I don't think we'll ever get the Chasing the Sun equivalent to SOTSOG-HC-DBTT-DOYS, none of those are nearly iconic enough and the demand is simply not there.
But I don't understand what the Oasis camp is doing by holding onto things. Why not release them and make some money while making the fanbase satisfied in the process? COME ON!!! --- What I will say is that when we do get releases, they are almost always well done: The Definitely Maybe DVD, LDSMD Docu DVD, Chasing the Sun Trilogy, Supersonic DVD, etc

Don't know why they would though. Whitey might be doing it just out of pure dislike for the Gallaghers but Guigs doesn't seem to have any ill will towards anyone in Oasis if the letter he sent for the DM DVD is anything to go by. I get why he wants to avoid any interviews or appearences now for the sake of anonymity but I can't see how appearing on an archive concert recording from 1996 could ever impact his current recognition in any way. It's not as if we don't all know what he looks like! But in the meantime, by all means bring on Finsbury 2002!!!

Maybe there's nobody in 'Oasis camp' that would be interested to work on new Oasis releases? Noel and Liam are busy with their own things, and probably couldn't agree on anything Oasis related.
