Ok here's a challenge... Alternatively... They're kinda like underrated/overrated playlist but with a little twist. I guess how you define the popularity of a song is up to you but the way I'm doing it is by how I perceive the consensus on this forum, by how a song did in the charts and by how many plays the song has had on Spotify, Youtube and the likes. It's pretty difficult as it's a bit of a balancing act between how much you like the song and how popular you perceive it to be. I'm not specifying I would prefer one album over the other, I'm just saying I'd rather enjoy the unsuccessful one, and I wouldn't really be on board with the successful one. Unsuccessful album:
1) Shakermaker 2) Force of Nature 3) Hung in a Bad Place 4) Mucky Fingers 5) My Big Mouth 6) Magic Pie 7) I Can See a Liar 8) Step Out 9) It's Better People 10) To Be Where There's Life 11) She is Love Successful album: 1) Stand By Me2) Stay Young 3) The Girl in the Dirty Shirt 4) Songbird 5) Don't Go Away 6) Let's All Make Believe 7) Sunday Morning Call 8) Born on a Different Cloud 9) All Around the World 10) Let There Be Love Stopped reading there.

For how unbelievably shit Heathen Chemistry is, Stop Crying Your Heart Out is the only song that really does the trick (shout out to Songbird).
But for all that universal appeal that Oasis nailed with Morning Glory, Stop Crying is probably the only song outside of that album that achieves this. And I think its lasting appeal is displayed in the fact that it’s one of their highest streamed songs and has gained over 100 million views on YouTube - perhaps not initially a massive hit around the globe at first, but various covers and an appearance in cult film Butterfly Effect boosted that appeal.
My opinion is that the production is fairly rough and clunky but the melody swells. It has a populist appeal that made them cool with the kids (so even more unbelievably how they could hire extremely unhip and terrible songwriting dad rockers like Gem and Andy is beyond me), In better hands, it should have been a worldwide smash hit. And yet ironically it’s on an atrocious album at probably Noel’s lowest ebb as a songwriter.

With less that'll-do production and maybe even a slightly less saccharine arrangement it could be utterly amazing. Same goes for Little by Little in my opinion.

Listening to Sunday Morning Call right now and just thinking,
The song is pretty good but I think the reason why it's not popular with people is because it's a song that's not supposed to make you feel good and expresses genuine doubt and is the tale of someone suffering from a hangover who is facing an existential crisis. The big, Don't Look Back in Anger-like production on the album version and the album version going over a minute too long don't do it favors, either.
This version gets to the essence of the song much better and should've been what Noel and co. had gone for on the album version:
Also SCYHO is one of the best post-BHN era tunes, no doubt. Had that been on SOTSOG and as the lead single with the Giants production, it would've been one hell of a comeback.

I'm starting to suspect that Sunday Morning Call is pretty drab no matter what you do to it.

I'm starting to suspect that Sunday Morning Call is pretty drab no matter what you do to it. Sunday Morning Call has some of Noels best lyrics. The only problem with it is that it followed on from Where Did It All Go Wrong and if it had been earlier in the album with Liam sung songs either side, it wouldn't be a problem I feel. Besides, I think the production on the track suits the mood of the song

It could have been better with less saccharine indeed but I think the songwriting is not very good anyway (one the worst verse melody ever wrote ?). It really is the interloper of Oasis popular tracks (with Little By Little, but I think LBL is way less popular).

In my drinking days, I would often order a Snakebite in direct honor of the mental Oasis instrumental. Innit.

Ranking the track 9s:
1. She's Electric 2. Digsy's Dinner 3. I Can See A Liar 4. Keep The Dream Alive 5. Be Here Now (sorry but for me the album version is boring...if it was more like it was live, it would be top) 6. She Is Love 7. Ain't Got Nothin

Why don't people like Oasis' cover of Heroes?
It's Noel's euphoric Be Here Now voice belting it out. Love it.

I feel like most people who dis the track are doing so as to not look like a knob by claiming to like something other than the original by the legend. Whatever. It's not the best track ever put to tape, but it's a solid effort.

Ain't Got Nothin Interesting to see all the songs that ended up as track 9s all together. Some very unpopular songs there. For me, BHN is the best, followed by She's electric, Digys Dinner then probably a tie between KTDA and AGN, depending on how I feel.
