I'd kill for some more unreleased stuff like the Gem tapes we got earlier this year. Do you think Oasis has much more in their locker? Logic would suggest they do - especially if Noel was telling the truth of having over 30 leftover songs from DBTT alone. It's irritating that Management doesn't release anything anymore. Whatever happened to the Knebworth DVD release? Shameful. Of course there must be. The scrapped DIV album, For One So Young, etc... probably hundreds of home demos.

Maybe something to do with Alan? Only thinking that because he was blurred/removed from performances in the Supersonic doc, and he'd be all over knebworth. Some legal thing maybe?

The stuff about there being 30+ songs left over from DBTT was clearly bullshit.
He used whatever shite he had left for the first solo album. Then brought it to Dave Sardy to suck any remaining life out of it and plonk his droany vocals on it.
Seriously i put HFB on in the car the other day and how it was hailed such a classic on here at the time i will never know. For all of DGSS shortcomings, i never got bored of it like HFB.

Did this song influence All Around The World?
Similar melody on both chorus.

The remastered 'D'You know What I Mean' video is the best Oasis video by far! It's stunning.

The remastered 'D'You know What I Mean' video is the best Oasis video by far! It's stunning. My favourite Oasis video, even before the remaster. Comparing the video for Supersonic, which is 5 guys on top of a building with some arty camera angles, to DYKWIM, which is basically a Hollywood production on a smaller scale, always puts a smile on my face.

Gas Panic has grown on me over the years - I'm not really a fan of psychedelic rock as such.
But I have always admired the lyrics. The two verses are a lyrical masterpiece. Like, fucking hell Noel. Brilliant.

Limited access to electronics means limited Oasis listening. What a travesty.

What do people here think of Who Feels Love? I've always been in two minds about it. I like the melodies and the production for the most part, but at the same time it feels a bit like Noel was scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of ways to ape the fab four.

Boring, drags after the halfway point and an absolute travesty for a choice of single

Whatever Oasis released on BHN, whether it had been the Masterplan or BHN with shorter songs, it would’ve got panned by the critics regardless. Their domination had an expiry date. I both agree and disagree. I also believe Oasis had an expiration date and it all seemed to culminate around the death of Princess Diana, ending of Cool Britannia, late 90s, and an excess of cocaine. But if Oasis' third album was The Masterplan, I think Oasis may have been able to extend their expiration date. The songs are too good on that compilation to get panned. But Oasis being Oasis would have just found another way to fuck it up regardless. You say that but a shit load of media tried their best to pan Whats The Story dont forget. It was only because that album was so undeniably good and probably more importantly had a few of the strongest singles in British history that it was able to stick two fingers up to anyone who dared to doubt it. What it did show was evidence of the previous post, that the media simply couldnt wait to get their revenge on these two arrogant brothers at the time. Theres evidence of it with all Oasis releases. As good or bad or as lacking in change of direction as they might be, you cant tell me they deserved some of the reviews or press they got. Still, you reap what you sow i suppose.

Oasis are the only drug I need. Must be the second hand cocaine.

Alan White was overrated. His drumming style and fills grated on me after a while. Not enough variation.

I quite like it, both the album version and live interpretation. May not have chosen it as a single but I like it as track 3. The Beatles influence is clearly there but it's never bugged me.
