Just finished Iain Robertson's book. Not a bad read but thought Tony McCarroll's was miles better.

The stuff about there being 30+ songs left over from DBTT was clearly bullshit. He used whatever shite he had left for the first solo album. Then brought it to Dave Sardy to suck any remaining life out of it and plonk his droany vocals on it. Seriously i put HFB on in the car the other day and how it was hailed such a classic on here at the time i will never know. For all of DGSS shortcomings, i never got bored of it like HFB. While HFB is by no means perfect, DGSS is next level shite.

It’s putrid beyond belief. How anyone could ever stomach the likes of Wind Up Dream or Kill For A Dream is beyond me. It’s music for men with erectile dysfunction!

I know setlist.fm isn't 100% accurate with their setlists, but I thought this was interesting.
The amount of different songs they played each tour according to setlist.fm: Definitely Maybe: 26 Morning Glory: 39 Be Here Now: 31 Standing on the Shoulder of Giants: 30 Tour of Brotherly Love: 13 10 Years of Noise & Confusion: 22 Heathen Chemistry: 38 Don't Believe the Truth: 28 Stop the Clocks: 20
Dig Out Your Soul: 26
Different Gear, Still Speeding: 19
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds: 27 BE: 28
Chasing Yesterday: 34 As You Were: 32
Who Built the Moon?: 29

That album killed off any interest a lot of people had in Beady Eye, including me.
Actually hearing Bring the Light did a little bit. Four Letter Word is by far the best song on that album. I remember first listening to DGSS with Four Letter Word and The Roller as the first two songs thinking that this album could actually be really good. Fuck.

The ultimate live performance - probably the best rendition of the song, taking into account Liam and Noel’s vocal harmonies. Also a strong contender for Oasis most underrated track (definitely in the context of Morning Glory, where throw away tunes like She’s Electric and Roll With It somehow take on greater precedence than this infinitely superior song).

Maine Road is better, laddy.

Amazing version. Underrated track indeed, it's gorgeous. Disagree about She's Electric being throwaway though, it's also a great composition.

I just met a girl who has direct and close links to the lawyer who represented Liza Ghorbani in the child-support case against Liam Gallagher in 2014. I want to respect confidentiality so I'll just leave it at that. Wow.
