Opinions really differ on the 00's albums, eh? I've heard SOTSOG, HC, DBTT, and DOYS referred to as "the worst Oasis album". Conversely, I've also seen each of those crowned the best Oasis album of the 00's, and even ranked above BHN (shock and horror!! ). The difference is staggering. But that's what's great about this forum, right?

Liam should have done more backing vocals for Noel sung songs.

Liam should have done more backing vocals for Noel sung songs. I agree. Sunday Morning Call could've used Liam backing Noel up on vocals to give it more of a needed edge to a really overproduced track. Hell, he should've sang that song on the album, but I do understand why Noel sang it instead of him for how personal & deep the lyrics are. The Importance of Being Idle, though, would've sounded pretty cool with Liam's backing vocals. I think that would've been a good thing to add in, especially on the falsetto parts where Noel's voice is the most vulnerable.

SOTSOG is dark and depressing in places too. LBL, Force of Nature, Hindu Times what is not to like. It makes DOYS look like Oasis by numbers which it is. I mean whoever thought the mighty oasis could create a song as shite as get off your high horse lady or ain't got nothin'. Or even soldier on, which really does soldier on... And on... And on... And on...! HC is more rock n' roll than DOYS and Oasis is all about rock n' roll, because " it's just rock n' roll" !!

Well, maybe it's depressing that Oasis released such a terrible album. And HC is much more "Oasis by numbers" than DOYS. HC was a step backward to try and recapture the energy of the 90's and failed terribly. DOYS, on the other hand, is much more texture and groove oriented than most of Oasis's catalog. You can't find analogues to songs like High Horse Lady and Soldier On (which are both good songs BTW ). I think a lot of people on here don't like DOYS because it's different from and colder than other Oasis albums. Even SOTSOG has that relatable sadness, but DOYS is doom-laden and distant from start to finish.

I Believe In All is quite a well produced record. And it kicks the arse out of Ain't Got Nothin' as well... Just saying...

When you're listening to other artists, knowing that you have Oasis in your back pocket, it's like driving a shite car even though you also own a Porsche. #Idiocy

And on...! HC is more rock n' roll than DOYS and Oasis is all about rock n' roll, because " it's just rock n' roll" !! Yea, I don't buy that either. DOYS has those first four tracks, Soldier On, and even (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady, The Nature of Reality, and Ain't Got Nothin', which are all some really heavy-hitting tracks that are pure rock. HC has The Hindu Times, Force of Nature, Hung in a Bad Place, and Better Man. The other ones are very soft, and one could almost argue that it was one of the softer periods of Oasis, especially with how many of the softer songs, along with the more stripped back & folky songs, sound the best production-wise (like SCYHO, Songbird, A Quick Peep, She is Love, Heart of a Star, Just Getting Older). On DOYS, all of the songs sound really good, no matter heavy or soft. That's part of the beauty, though. The other part is how it sounds like everyone has an important part in each part of the song, and it shows with how the best songs on the album are the ones where everyone shines well, like The Shock of the Lightning, The Turning, and Falling Down.

When you're listening to other artists, knowing that you have Oasis in your back pocket, it's like driving a shite car even though you also own a Porsche. #Idiocy Interesting, but for me, I'd liken it to that one car you instantly fell in love years ago that gives you minimal problems and brings you something new and exciting for you to enjoy out of it, whereas other artists are like other cars that you love and enjoy driving, but it's just not like the first car you fell in love with and enjoyed that first time.

I've realised when I'm pissed I always gravitate to Oasis in my music library. It seems to be happening a lot recently.
Obviously my pissed subconscious knows what it wants.
Btw Bring It On Down is the ultimate pissed Oasis tune.
What an onslaught!

"YOU'LL NEVER FORGET MY NAME!" Heck yeah, messing around with Audacity's EQ feature trying to bring out the dynamics in IHITIK. Love this song so much. I never used to give this song much time but it came on once and I was really blown away by it and now it just makes BHN so much better. "You tell me I'm free then you tie me down And from my chains I think it's a pity What did it cost you to wear my crown You don't like me why don't you admit it I feel a little down today, and I ain't got much to say But you're gonna miss me when I'm not there And you know I don't care, you know I don't care" brilliant lyrics.
