Criminally underrated band. I do really like the album, but it's their worst for me (albeit their most interesting). They looked bored as shit touring it as well. I wish them a speedy recovery

Chasing Yesterday, obviously. Tame Impala-Currents Blur-The Magic Whip.
Most other albums I've heard simply weren't very good, for example Muse and Coldplay's albums. Plus I actually haven't listened to a lot of albums this year.

Alabama Shakes - Sound & Color -- best one of the year for me Blues Pills - Live ***cheating with this one, but it's so fucking good** Noel Gallagher - CY Lou Doillon - Lay Low Laura Marling - Short Movie half of Gary Clark's The Story of Sonny Boy Slim - the rocky/bluesy half. I keep skipping the tracks that sound like Prince

I think I'll post albums with choice cuts from them as well: Noel - Chasing Yesterday (The Right Stuff, BOTMI, Do the Damage) Blur - The Magic Whip (My Terracotta Heart, Lonesome Street, Mirrorball) New Order - Music Complete (Tutti Frutti, Singularity, People on the High Line) Belle and Sebastian - Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance (Perfect Couples, Nobody's Empire, Enter Sylvia Plath) Hot Chip - Why Make Sense? (Need You Now, Dark Night, Started Right)
Other than that my taste in music is firmly rooted in the past, haven't been that many great albums released this year.

Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell Foals - What Went Down Florence + the Machine - How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful Petrels - Flailing Tomb Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Chasing Yesterday Jamie XX - In Colour The Maccabees - Marks to Prove It Mini Mansions - The Great Pretenders The Tallest Man On Earth - Dark Bird Is Home Peace - Happy People
A good year for me, there's a load of bands like Of Monsters & Men, Drenge, Grimes, Sleater-Kinney, Everything Everything, Laura Marling, Blur, Django Django etc who all released good albums too. Carrie & Lowell is the real standout album of the year for me, just brilliant from start to finish. It's also been good to see two of my favourite acts, Foals and Florence & the Machine, release their best albums yet.

I have yet to explore it and him further, but I really, really like what I have heard so far of
Ghostpoet - Shedding Skin
Other than that
New Order - Music complete Charlatans - Modern Nature Faith no more - Sol Invictus
I don't have that many still current artists that brought out albums in 2015, obviously, and when I find someone new, it does not necessarily mean new to anybody apart from me.

Just played through The Magic Whip for probably the first time since the Spring.
I shouldn't have been overlooking it like I have been, I'd forgotten just how bloody good it is.

In no particular order: NGHFB - Chasing Yesterday (Riverman) The Libertines - Anthems for Doomed Youth (Gunga Din, Milkman's Horse) Blur - The Magic Whip (Lonesome Street) Circa Waves - Young Chasers (T-Shirt Weather, So Long) Carl Barat - Let It Reign (Victory Gin) The Fratellis - Eyes Wide Tongue Tied (Baby Don't You Lie To Me) The View - Ropewalk (Under the Rug)
Quite a good year for me. 2014 was pretty disappointing in terms of new albums, 2015 was much better.

Just downloaded Jamie xx, and Of Monster and Men Currently listening to Jamie xx - In Colour - I'm up to Obvs (track 4).....I wouldn't call what I've listened to thus far bad, but just rather decent background music. I'm not getting the hype for this yet. Maybe it's just not my genre? I don't know. Advice, Lennon2217? kingcrawler?

In Order Top 15
1. To Pimp a Butterfly - Kendrick Lamar - this is high art up there with Dark Side of Moon/Kid A musically and up there with What's Going On in terms of social relevance. Lot of you aren't hip hop fans but this album is genius. 2. Currents - Tame Impala - this album has defined my year and Lonerism might be more enjoyable but this is Kevin's most realized work. Let it Happen is my song of the year. 3. White Reaper Does It Again - White Reaper - Just a goddamn fun rock n' roll album. Love the keyboard and pop power vibes of these guys. Literally every song is banger. 4. The Epic - Kamasi Washington - a 3 disk Jazz odyssey. I'm no jazz expert, but I've really grown to appreciate it and enjoy over the past couple years. The Rhythm Changes is simply beautiful. Leroy and Lanisha and Re Run are stunning works. 5. Thank Your Lucky Stars / Depression Cherry- Beach House - shouldn't count as one, but I really like these albums together. TYLS is haunting and DC is an ethereal release of emotion. Levitation would make my top five songs of the year. 6. In Colour - Jamie xx - A pretty outstanding and varied collection of electronica. Goes through a lot of different vibes in its own subtle way. Gosh and Loud Places [ft. Romy] are easily two of the year's best songs and its a masterwork in terms of production from Jammie - just listen to skipskat wobbly Sleep Sound. 7. Fading Frontier - Deerhunter - This is might not be the best Deerhunter record, but damn it its probably the most purely enjoyable, and I love hearing this side of the band. Snakeskin, Duplex Planet and Living My Life are prime. 8. Wildheart - Miguel - His first debut album has only gotten better with age, so I really pumped for this and it delivered. This is a sexy album. like damn a sexy album. Waves has a irresistible groove and coffee is a jam. Dude is one of the best singers we have and I give props to a dude who has the weird sex appeal of a Prince. Don't have anything as timeless as Adorn, but dude is talented. 9. Chasing Yesterday - Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Can confidently say this is most rewarding and complete release from a Gallagher since the 90's. Riverman and The Right Stuff in particular are very very promising. Just listened to it again today and its a great fuckin' record from the Chief. 10. The Magic Whip - Blur - this is the best comeback album in recent memory. Plays like a goddamn greatest hits, but it sounds fresh and exciting. A perfect starting point for people who are trying to get into them. 11. Feels Like - Bully - pure pop power punk bliss. I Remember is viciously raw, and Milkman has a bratty swagger. If you love catchy, energetic pop/rock, with punk rock singer frontwomen then I can't recommend this enough. It's brutally honest record. 13. No Cities to Love - Sleater Kinney - these chicks just rock and its great to have them back 14. Kicking Everyday - All Dogs - Its been a killer for female rockers. This very similar to the Bully record in terms of sound and sentiment, but this is a little lighter and less intense. A sad, angry, and melodic, they a more dynamic band. 15. Star Wars - Wilco - this album kinda came and went, but its quietly really good. Its avant garde but its compact and accessible. Kinda sounds like some lost studio jams at first but in 33 minutes this album covers a lot of ground and it has some gems.
(D'Angelo's - Black Messiah would make it but it was released in very late in 2014)
Honorable Mentions (will add some more later) California Nights - Best Coast What For? - Toro y Moi Art Angels - Grimes (first albums of her's that I'd willingly to say i liked, but it does have a ten min period like her last did.
