All that You Can't Leave Behind is very possibly their best set of songs

All that You Can't Leave Behind is very possibly their best set of songs I love Walk On, In a Little While and Kite, especially live. But the second part of that album is just awful, Wild Honey, Peace on Earth and Grace I actually like all those songs. Bono' lyrics are pretty great on the first half of the album, and take a turn for the atrocious from Wild Honey onwards. But the melodies are indelible, and The Ground Beneath her Feet is a more than worthy bonus track, even if Rushdie comes across as even more precious than Bono. In a Little While is the song that got me into U2 and I still love it. On an unrelated note, I felt Songs of Innocence was a very strong collection of songs with very poor production. If you include the great singles they left off the record, and include acoustic versions of most of the songs (the ones from various TV and radio broadcasts are better than the officially released acoustic ones IMO) you can make a pretty great album out of that one.

Fucking hate U2. Good tidings x. It's ok. You might be the one person in the world Bono doesn't like.

I'll go for The Unforgettable Fire.... but I'm taking into account the deluxe version which has tunes left off that are as great as a lot of the original tracklisting.

Achtung Baby Joshua Tree
Been listening to a lot of Boy recently which is cracking also. The energy from the early years songs they've been playing on this tour at the start of the set is incredible, stuff like Electric Co, I Will Follow, Gloria, Out Of Control, really brilliant songs.

Boy, War, The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, Zooropa and (in my personal opinion) Pop.
These are SEVEN top drawer albums right there, there are very very few artists who can deliver that amount of quality. Insane to think that's the same amount of albums Oasis released.

You could probably add ATYCLB to that. Even the lesser albums had some absolute crackers, Angel Of Harlem, Desire, Vertigo I love Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me as well.

Yeah absolutely, the other albums are decent bar a couple here and there and many of them still contain some of their best tunes. But I'm more of a Pop man myself which indicates I veer towards the more experimental and dark side of U2, but All That You Can't Leave Behind demonstrated they still had a convincing populist touch to them that no other bands could rival.

Joshua Tree is 4th mainly because my favorite songs off of it is mainly the singles. Bullet the Blue Sky, Red Hill Mining Town, Mothers of the Dissapeared?

Almost forgot the amazing Edge sung Van Diemans Land. What a tune that is.

I think The Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby and All That You Can't Leave Behind usually end up regarded as their absolute best. While they are truly brilliant, it's im a way unfair to the other albums. Pop & Zooropa (the title track is one of their finest from that era I feel)get slated and criticised way too much; if not that, simply forgotten - so it's nice to see there are people who appreciate them.

Pop is a great and underrated album. Lots of gems from that album get seriously overlooked, like the first 5 tracks of the album, Wake Up Dead Man, and Please. Besides those, The Playboy Mansion is solid with some great lyrics, If You Wear That Velvet Dress is sexy, Last Night on Earth and Gone are rockers at heart, and Miami is the only real weak point in the album, imo.

I did, and I do like them; I just get a bit defensive over the '90s albums. Out Of Control is brilliant, especially the live performances! While we're at it, October is their worst (out of the early ones, at least) - I hardly ever listen to it.
