Went to see them in Glasgow last week, great gig. Great band, ridiculous how under-rated they are, they should be huge. Really like the album, few brilliant songs on but it ain't up there with their best.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa..............................not sure why I slept on this but the new Bill Ryder-Jones album is fucking fantastic. While reading reviews for the new Coral album a reviewer mentioned Bill's latest album. Figuring I should finally get around to listening to it, I'm taken back by the results. His debut album was kinda so-so, mellow and gentle. Kirby Country Primary is anything but. mimmihopps you need to get on this if you haven't already. My first impressions of this record is Lou Reed meets The Strokes with Pavement guitar licks. Two very big thumbs up! Highlights: - Tell Me You Don't Love Me Watching (Could be On "Is This It" by The Strokes) - Daniel - Two To Birkenhead (Pavement Wowee Zowee anyone?) - You Can't Hide A Light With The Dark - Satellites (Could be a song on Lou Reed's "Transformer")

Edit: Lennon2217, I just checked some of his songs on youtube and I'm listening to Daniel as I type. This song reminds me Badly Drawn Boy in his youger days. "He Took You In His Arms" reminds me Ed Harcourt (I LOVE him!). I like "Daniel" and "Two To Birkenhead" ( could have been one of The Rifles songs?). You should check new Frightened Rabbit album which will be out next month, produced by Aaron Dessner! Never heard of them. Will check out... Do it. Like mememe26 said, they're ridiculously underrated.

First album If is outstandin' although completely different. Basically wrote a soundtrack based on a book, think there's only one song on it with vocals, majority of it is classical music. Love it though.

Saw The Coral for the 4th time last night and they were brilliant. They played most songs from the new album, shame that they only played "1000 Years" from "Butterfly House", but played quite some old songs later in the evening. Support was Blossems and they were ok. They did remind me Suede.

Ha, I didn't know that they're featured in new Manics album. Gotta listen to it! I love The Coral. I've seen them 4 times and it's been 2 years since when I saw them last time, so it's time to hear something new from them.
Edit: My bad, The Coral are special guests for upcoming Manics show.

Really looking forward to the new album! but the artwork sucks. Hopefully to see them later this year again. Love The Coral, they're one of the great legacies The Beatles left behind.

The single art looks so similar to their previous album cycle. Nice to shake it up. Although the two different styles are the moment are confusing.

While I like their shirts this gives the impression they’ve developed a fetish for synthesizers and made an electro-pop album. X
