Good Lord! The DVD will be released in November! That's still nearly a month away. Bummer. Pick the nearest Pathe! You can watch it this Thursday already. The nearest one is over an hour away.

I wish they'd covered the madness of the Be Here Now period, when that door slams at the end of the album, THAT'S the end of Oasis in their first incarnation Brilliant film tho. The Be Here Now era I always see as a separate time frame to the 1993-1996 signing and meteoric rise of Oasis. September 1996 was the beginning of a period of 18 months where Oasis went from being arguably the biggest band in the world (although not the USA) to very nearly breaking up on the BHN tour under legal and personal pressures along with constant media scrutiny before coming through seemingly intact until the SOTSOG sessions in the summer of 1999. It would make a fascinating documentary on it's own but one which will unfortunately never be made despite backstage and gig footage shot at the time existing, not least due to Noel Gallagher's personal dislike of that era. What legal pressures are you referring to?

I think people are being a little harsh on Ted Kessler. It definitely could've been better organised but Liam was on good form and I doubt we were ever going to get any amazing new insights.
I think Liam welcomed Bonehead taking some of the pressure off him. Kessler might have anticipated better that audience questions would be mixed at best, but that's the way these things often go.
Hopefully the Radio X night is better for those shelling out £150 mind!

The audience questions were that of a 3rd grader. Give me 5 questions and that interview would have won awards..

It would make a fascinating documentary on it's own but one which will unfortunately never be made despite backstage and gig footage shot at the time existing, not least due to Noel Gallagher's personal dislike of that era. What legal pressures are you referring to? Liam's arrest in Australia on charges of assault in Australia which were ultimately dropped in favour of a pursuit in the British civil courts by the complainant, but which hung over the band for the remainder of the tour as Liam was on Australian bail until June 1998 with at one point Marcus Russell saying privately to Paolo Hewitt that he feared for the singer being made an example of in the courts which given Ian Brown's prison sentence the following year for an alleged 'air rage' incident was a real possibility. The case was eventually settled after the tour both for civil and criminal matters out of court. (Forever the People- Paolo Hewitt and MTV Nov 1998 the latter in reference to a later assault arrest in the UK but references the Australia case. A further citation is BBC March 1998 referring to the arrest as Oasis issued an apology for an "appalling" concert in Brisbane following those events). The event had been preceded by a problematic flight with Cathay Pacific into Australia where the captain threatened to have the plane diverted and met by the police, with Liam's subsequent televised interview damning and threatening the captain resulting in the airline banning Liam from their aircraft- BBC 1998

I watched the Q&A but the sound was too low (that's my tablet's fault, I'm not going deaf), couldn't understand half of what was being said, especially with Liam's accent which is even more difficult to understand in a low volume.
It seems like I haven't missed much, but I'd still like it if it was included in the DVD.

Decent questions. Nice to hear how close Liam and Bonehead are these days. I'm afraid I'm not holding out too much hope for Liam's solo album. References to it having a 'Working Class Hero vibe' and 'Lennon-y' songs suggests it's just going to be him indulging his Lennon fetish for an entire album.

Good to see Tony with a Gallagher. According to this, Liam, Paul, Craig Gill, Brian Cannon and Tony all celebrated afterwards in Gotham hotel. Maybe not necessarily at the same time, but who knows?

Gotham Hotel was a good place to stay Met Tony and Brian before the film and they were in a pretty good mood already. Met them all again later at the hotel and they had a lot of fun, Liam still knows how to party

I finally watched the documentary last night. It's really well done, it almost felt too short. Liam and Noel are just hilarious. Actually, I took a date who knew nothing about Oasis to watch it and she loved it. I had told her about how Noel and Liam had fallen out and in the end she said "it's a pity the brothers are not talking anymore, these guys had something". Now I'm wondering if I should let her be happy with that thought or play Heathen Chemistry to her and ruin the whole thing (meaning both her expectations and my chances ).

I'd play her SOTSOG as well as HC and if she still wants to meet you again after that, well, you'll know she's a keeper (and willing to share your pain) ;-)
