It would have been nice but even back in 2003 he explained after being invited to participate in the tenth anniversary Definitely Maybe DVD that he was happiest having a low profile, wasn't keen on being interviewed especially in front of a camera, but did simply say he had "the best time of my life" with Oasis. I think it is reflective of his personality, an introverted sort who prefers to keep out of the limelight and as such has no interest in taking part in such releases. Luckiest man on the planet. Got to enjoy the high points, then rode off into the sunset withoout a care in the world and a pile of cash. Guigs, the Apostrophe Police are coming round. And they're angry.

Animated reconstructions? That sounds cool. I too have seen Montage Of Heck and it worked very well there.

I think he comes across as a lovely guy in this letter. There's surely more than enough people in the world who get into music and pop culture just for the fame, attention and money. I get the feeling that Guigsy liked being in oasis more for the sake of the music and comradery of the band. Having fun with his best friends and being included. And even though expressing the discomfort about being infront of a camera, he still wants to help/contribute if he can in another way. Never liked how Noel has talked (also in the video where he comments oasis music videos) about Guigsy not being able to participate in the Wonderwall-video and etc. Saying that he had "Lazyitus" and pretended to struggle with nervous breakdown/panic attacks. Being anxious and having trouble with being in front of the camera (along with long term effects of smoking pot) could surely result in very real panic attacks. Nothing to make fun of IMO.

Is there any knowledge if there will be extras on the DVD/BR? 90 Minutes as stated at amazon sounds a bit short. Btw I checked imdb before, it says there will only be archive footage of Guigsy. Think that´s quite sad. Would have loved to see and hear him for at least a couple of seconds. It would have been nice but even back in 2003 he explained after being invited to participate in the tenth anniversary Definitely Maybe DVD that he was happiest having a low profile, wasn't keen on being interviewed especially in front of a camera, but did simply say he had "the best time of my life" with Oasis. Tony's name is notable by its absence - and this was a decade before his book! No love lost there then.

Perhaps I need to watch Montage of Heck cos reading that there will be animated reconstructions made me feel a bit skeptical. Must be very difficult for a doc maker when there's no footage though.

I thought it was cool, a little bit overdone at times perhaps, but cool. It really depends on how it's done though, can definitely see why people wouldn't like it.

Being anxious and having trouble with being in front of the camera (along with long term effects of smoking pot) could surely result in very real panic attacks. Nothing to make fun of IMO. I think like all personal and working relationships it comes down to how people interact, and obviously at points they (Noel & Guigsy) were going to clash in much the same way Guigsy and Noel did with Tony McCarroll- Arguably given eye witness accounts Guigs had a bigger problem with Tony than even Noel did. As to Noel it's probably a combination of how he is as a person, i.e. dismissive with depreciating humour against the subject as well as following to a point his hero Paul Weller in writing off people once they are no longer part of the set up by choice or by not being required. Also with regard to the "lazyitis" comments it probably grates him slightly that even though Guigsy was genuinely ill at the time (He was actually diagnosed with a blood pressure disorder by a Harley Street GP) it meant that they had to find a replacement during an important period for Oasis in the US campaign, and in true Oasis fashion instead of getting in a professional such as Alan White's recommendation of former band mate Julian Taylor they got another chap who arguably coped less than Guigsy did in Scott McLeod, meaning they had to cut short after appearing on 'Letterman' as a four piece following the latter's abrupt departure. Finally I suppose Noel when it comes to mental health and long term drug use effects is more than a little uncomfortable given his own well documented problems between 1998 and 2002, and so like other people I have known he uses sarcasm and dark humour as a defence mechanism as much as anything else to avoid dealing with the memories that are brought back up.

I'd love the film to be massive and for another film to be commissioned off its success, for the events post Knebworth up until the split. One can dream.

So it's officially out on 2nd October YAYYYYY!!!!! The Oasis Documentary Supersonic is due out on 2 October and according director Mat Whitecross the aim was to capture all the excitement of Oasis’s meteoric rise from early gigs in Manchester in ’93, through to their peak at Knebworth in August ’96, when they played to a quarter of a million people. “The problem we had,” Whitecross says, “was that, back then, not everything was filmed, unlike today, where everyone’s got their phones out.” However, the unseen footage includes scenes from Oasis’s disastrous 1994 gig at LA’s Whisky A Go Go, as well as the recording of Champagne Supernova. There are also unseen clips from rehearsals at Oasis’s debut TV performance on The Word, and from Knebworth, which has still never been fully documented. There are no talking-head interviews, just voices narrating the footage you see unfolding. The effect, says Whitecross, “is like Liam and Noel are in the same room, like they’re having a conversation.” Via: ©Q Magazine and www.imdb.com/title/tt5213534/

No talking heads meaning we are not gonna see anybody? Wtf is up with that? Using the recent interviews as narration means we'll get more content which is ultimately what we all want. Remember they are trying to cram in a good 4 or 5 years into about 90 or so minutes!

I've heard the doc was going to be called "Stop Making Fookin' Sense You C*nt" until David Byrne threatened to sue.

But interviews and that kind of "serious" shit, being in a spotlight etc. I'd definitely stress it, unless I was drunk or high on drugs during that.
