I Wonder if Andy Bell is commenting on the new tune? Good sign that they are going back to their pop and dance roots for this? A trip hop single? Ian Browns dabbled in that kind of stuff before, so it will be fascinating to hear how John Squires guitar sounds on this. Edit - Hope he doesn't mean Tears.

How did you manage to find that? Seems a legitimate enough website.

New Radiohead, Ashcroft and Roses all in the same month! Holy tits! Must be what it was like to be a kid in the 90s... Got Neil Hannon coming back with his Divine Comedy in a few months as well! Just wish our Noel'd got a lick on, but his new one'll probably only be out next year at this rate. Just hope the new Roses is better than what they were doing in the 90s...

Man the 90s, it was christmas all the time. Oasis singles every three months, that meant a run to record shop to hunt down the cds with 3 NEW TRACKS ON (no shitty remixes , that's for you Noel), that meant a full new album in a year's time... discovering great new bands every other month, buying a record just coz of the sleeve. Pulp, Blur, The Divine Comedy, Oasis all active at the same time and their videos played on fuckin TV. And there was also some great american bands : the pumpkins, fountains of wayne, weezer... etc Good good times, i wish kids nowadays could live that. There's plenty of good music out there, but ironically, even though you have access to it all with a click of a mouse, it's way harder to discover.

Are The Stone Roses more popular than Oasis in the UK? Or is it even? No. And they never will be. Sure, there's a buzz about them now that there just isn't for Oasis, what with them making their first record in twenty years and Oasis having been defunct for nearly 7, and, much like The Smiths, they have now amassed quite the hipster following, but unless their new record has a couple of Made In Stone's on it, Oasis will always have more identifiable songs. As well as, of course, two far superior singers.

After the 60s and the 70s, music from the 90s is what I listen to most. Not only were there so many great bands making great records (Morning Glory, Different Class, The Bends, I Should Coco, Stanley Road, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness ALL released in '95!), but there were real characters then as well. And I know some snotty-nosed hacks get a bit snooty about 'Britpop' these days - maybe cause of the links to Laddism, I dunno - but the jangly guitars, heavy use of strings and references to 60s and 70s bands, all that stuff is right up my alley. But hey, at least I've had Arctic Monkeys, right?

But hey, at least I've had Arctic Monkeys, right? Ah well, dont be sad you missed it. I missed the 60s and 70s obviously. you're right 95 was probably the best year for music, ever. Even the 60s can't beat it. The records are here for you to enjoy : In the end, that's the only thing that last forever. Sure we old 30 something vaginas have vivid memories of that time and the music is tied with those days in our heads, but what's great with music is that you can build your own little world and imagine what it was like back then. Plus many acts are still around and are playing live. it might no be like the old days, but they're all still very good for their age. Blur especially, still amazing, Pulp did a great comeback few years ago and maybe the original Pumpkins will comeback soon. It's the "90s 2.0, live"

It had a detrimental impact on all us Coldplay fans (I'm still uncontrollably wetting myself and The Escapist wakes up screaming in the middle of the night, while Lennon2217 is still living the life of a hermit) but surely this news will wake @wadfalkirk from his Head Full of Dreams induced coma?

Would never believe after all these years listening to them that I'm sitting here anticipating a new Stone Roses single.
