NME.COM seem to confirm NOV 9 as release date www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/albums-coming-out-in-2017-2120698When it’s out: November 9 What to expect: Masterful guitar rock that sounds like a slightly more mature Oasis, if the previous High Flying Birds albums are anything to go by. Noel was reportedly tweaking and refining the album even as it was being mixed; he’s not a man prone to overthinking things, so this level of scrutiny has been billed a new way of working for him. Excitingly, it will see his and Liam’s album going head-to-head. He says: “I’m not sure I’ll make another record another way [from now on]. “It’s brilliant and like I say, the record sounds better for [being so perfected], which I’m sure you’ll agree with when you hear it!” ____ He seems pretty confident this time. Should be good.

This thread will grow a lot as we're going to jump every time someone posts a random tweet, but I don't really expect they will announce anything this month. Most records seem to be announced 6-8 weeks in advance nowadays, so everything will most likely happen in September (that is if Noel's camp have abandoned their old-fashioned ways). However, the first single will probably be sent to radio DJs and all that a bit before the announcement, so we'll hear from them soon.

Don't you just love how the NME tell you what to expect while having no fucking clue as to what it's going to be like? Not only that, but they manage to misquote Noel: when he said "It’s brilliant and like I say, the record sounds better for THAT", "that" referred to the album having been created in the studio. It could be a rough-sounding album for all we know.

Yeah they have been shite for a while now, i write better english than those vaginas even though i'm not english. The release date seems to be confirmed now, which is good, it's gonna lighten up the sad and mellow month of november. As for a rough sounding album, i'm all for it. I suppose if he wrote it live in the studio, it's likely.

To be fair, they're not confirming anything as they took the release date from the Radio X interview (same source for the mangled quote). But yeah, given that Noel and Russ Pritchard are still saying the album is coming out in November, it's pretty much confirmed. The date is probably wrong as it's a Thursday.

What site is better to look at for news than NME? I want to never go there again. I hate their half articles and pasting in of old articles and recycling bullshit like Everything we know about...(insert here) that is absolutely nothing. God its awful.

Both those comments are coming from the Radio X interview where he said it as a very throwaway comment. I think it's still coming out in November, but that's a Thursday, so can't see his management team really breaking away from a traditional Friday release. I also don't think we'll hear too much about this when Liam's in the news so much. For all the brother v brother stuff, them, and more importantly their management, are smart enough to realise that when it comes to touring and releases that amongst casual fans, they can't put them on similar schedules over the first three months because they'll be cannibalising a large part of the casual fan's disposable income. Tour wise, Noel usually gives 6 months notice for the arena shows, and 3 months for the theatre shows that started the 1st tour. With u2 taking up potential media time in the run up to things, could be a very low key release with either an arena tour through March before swinging back through the UK for festival season, or a stadium tour, hitting 4 or 5 stadia with a fairly beefy support line up.

Re-listened to Chris Evans because I heard something last night that got lost in the Liam hoopla. Just as She's Electric is ending Chris Evans says, "And then what happened to news with his brother, Noel? He wants to come on as well." He says it around the 1:52:00 mark. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08zqcxmI think Chris has already heard something from his producers about Noel wanting to schedule something.

So it begins. Great find! Coachella is in early April. If he takes a 2-3 week swing through of the US he might hit there too.
