He doesn't really need to make music to make a living anymore. He's a multimillionaire ffs. exactly! but he does cos he does love it!! many interviews he says without music life is nothing, or sara moans cos I'm always 'doing music' etc.. So at this stage where money not an issue why not try and get some of that critical acclaim (even for way history will look back at you) to prove you was an true true legend

Noel said in a radio program with Russel Brand that the album release date will be in November. And also includes a track called 'Instrumental 3' I can't tell if you are taking the piss but it sounds about 50% true. "The Oasis legend visited Radio X and teased the details of his third studio album. Noel Gallagher has revealed when his new album will be released this year. The Oasis man visited Russell Brand at Radio X on Sunday (23 April) and teased that his new album is slated for November. Watch our video above.
Speaking to his friend, the Ballad Of The Mighty I singer revealed: "I believe it's slated for a November release". Asked if he could reveal any song titles, he teased: "There's one just called instrumental number three". The album will be the rocker's third solo release and the follow-up to 2015's Chasing Yesterday."------------------------------------------- Here's the link. I'll always follow Noel, wherever he decides to go, musically - but I can't lie, my interest is starting to wane now. I really do hope this next album is a fucking killer, and serves to prove me and other naysayers wrong - because time is getting on. This is 110% my stance also. I remember being dead excited about his solo career prior to the first solo album - like Beady Eye fans also, it was as much about the intrigue in what a post-Oasis career phase would look like. And while I enjoyed his debut album, and also enjoyed his second album, I haven't been wowed by his music in any way. And the longer that goes on, the more it just feels like you're going through the motions as a fan. The most special albums are the ones that surprise me and move me immensely - I'd be delighted at this stage to get an album that does one of either these things. As a loyal servant to all things Gallagher related, I have the faith and belief that they can still deliver - that's why we're all here discussing these things. Having the expectation though is a completely different matter altogether.

I think we should be able to discuss whatever the we want, except if you personally offend people or if there's really no point in discussing it. Certain topics will always come up, no matter what. Yes it's annoying, yes it's boring, hut it doesn't hurt anyone.
Now about this album: I loved HFB1, played the shit out of that despite the production flaws. Was super excited about CY. Heard it, was extremely underwhelmed. It eventually grew on me. Loved the gigs. Was lucky enough to have 2 very different setlists. I can't say I'm bursting with excitement for this album, but I do hage high hopes and am looking forward to if. It's just not a question of "can't wait to hear it", although that will probably change once it leaks.
But if you'd ask me when the last time was I listened to the whole album, or HFB1, or anything HFB, I wouldn't be able to answer you.

Some of you guys really need to calm down and look at the facts. The Death of You and Me was premiered in July 2011, three months before the album release. We also got IIHAG in between. We heard the album one week before the supposed date because of that German website. Therefore, Chasing Yesterday was the only album for which we had to wait five months, and it was released in the spring.
Expect a July announcement coinciding with the U2 tour and maybe a single.

The latter. Expect a new single/announcement of a new album later this year (depending on when Liam is doing his stuff maybe). New album released spring next year. Why next year? Noel said November yesterday, I can't see why it should be pushed back. If he was indeed mastering (or mixing) the album in NY last week, then everything is pretty much finished. People at his record label will probably deal with the artwork, distribution deals, gig planning, etc in the next two months and then they're done. I still believe that the July Joshua Tree support gigs are perfectly timed (well, in the mind of Noel's management) for announcing an album which is out in October or November. Announcement and first single in July, second single in September and album out in November is my guess. A flawless pre-internet, medieval release strategy... I'd missed the announcement. But yeh, it seems that if the album is ready to go then it will be November. Guessing Liam's album will be a bit earlier than that, but you never know - there may be a sibling rivalry in the charts (well, the vinyl ones at least).

Think he's doing it a different way this time though, so it'll be interesting. Regardless of his new album (the quality of it), NG will still sell out arenas nation-wide in minutes. That's where the money comes from. And the people who get those tickets usually aren't entirely arsed about hearing all the new stuff (especially since the tickets will go on sale long before the album's release if he goes straight into arena gigs like he did with the Chasing Yesterday tour).

The thought of there genuinely being instrumentals on this album makes me salivate profusely.

I don't know if he sees it as a pain, I think he's just tinkering around. He's done his main music work in life and now does it part time almost. He's in semi retirement mode. It just all reminds me too much of U2 themselves. It's been almost 3 years since Songs of Innocence, when Bono said that 'Experience' would be coming out right after it - a bit of a one-two punch. Since September 2014, they've constantly spouted that it's done or being wrapped up, putting 'finishing touches', then end up saying Trump delayed the album for us, and conveniently using the fact that it's the 30th anniversary of the Joshua Tree to start touring again, along with a reissue (keep in mind TJT got its anniversary celebration in the same fashion ten years ago as well). I'm just going to assume they don't give a shit anymore. for Bono music is only one thing among his many interests. he's an activist, a venture capitalist and all such, whereas noel's pretty much only into music. I think he's just not that driven anymore. Even at his prime, he's more of a songwriter based on instinct, rather than working hard to create some experimental sound - and the charm of oasis is being intuitive and direct. Nowadays he still needs music to vent his emotions, but the burning urge to shout out loud to the world is gone. that's normal, people getting old. the problem is he maintains high media exposure and all the boasting but didn't quite live up to it. so there you go.

Interesting that he referred (albeit briefly) to an instrumental on the next album - I must admit I do love a good Noel instrumental. I can't seem to find it myself, but I do remember reading/hearing an interview two years ago in which he noted that he had a full album of instrumentals written (demos I presume?). Perhaps somebody can track it down? Maybe he's incorporated some of that album onto this one with David Holmes.

If you listen to David Holmes score for oceans twelve there is actually really cool sounds and memorable instrumentals on it, a very unique sound to that score, I really hope he brings that to Noel's new album.

In my head this is a perfect marriage between two creative minds with grand results. I'm trying not to get too excited. Been burned by Noel and Oasis several times (HC, DIV, DOYS, AA, Gorillaz).

I don't think we will be burned but it probably won't be as different or experimental as noel is making it out to be. I can see some songs being string or jazz driven with David Holmes on board. I will wager this will be his least rock and roll album and be on the more melodic quiet side.
