I love it how Ballad of the Mighty I is received with two opposites. You love it or hate it. I really don't like it. You can tell a lot about a person based on their opinions on that particular song. I hate that tune with passion. So what can you tell about me ? |

I expect the album will be announced just before he goes on tour with U2 and released in October as usual. Remember he's planning to have everything finished by late June, he's not going to release the album two weeks later.

A birdy told me June, but I don't buy it. no the artworks, recordings and everything else related with the album has to be completed by june (well glastonbury which is the end of june) not released by june. I cant see it being released by or in the summer if hes looking at June as a deadline unless he drops it out of the blue with no build which is pretty unlikely, he wouldnt even need to think about june being a cutoff point if the album is all ready to go now or in the near future. the most that will happen in the summer is an announcement along with the first single so he can start to generate interest before september while hes out with U2 and doing interviews etc. Liams the one whos looking like a spring or summer release. |

Noel would be SMART to drop his new single prior to those U2 gigs so he can perform it there, maybe create a buzz and get those digital downloads from that 40s/50s something crowd.

Exactly, I think his first single before his first support act, and in October the album (again a fee months between single and album).

When David Holmes mentions that he's making an upbeat and fast paced, energetic album with Noel, then I hope they are using this one from Holmes as a vibrant blueprint for the album. Just about enough conventional instrumentation here to stop the more conservative music fans from scurrying, but with a good beat and sparkles of sonic wizardry that is contemporary sounding, ideally appeasing groups of fans.

Forgot how much I enjoyed this song. Popped it on after reading your post and ended up listening to the whole album for the first time in a while. Would love to hear some songs in this vein from Noel. Now listening to his remix EP actually. Looking forward to his new stuff for sure. |
