Sadly still can't get into this tune, i mean it's not a bad tune, but i really don't think he should have chose it as a lead single, sounds like something that would have been better to take you by surprise in the middle of the album. I personally don't enjoy much of David Holmes work, the album was described a lot as 'psychedelic' so i really hope he manages to portray that throughout the other songs but i can't hear any type of psychedelia in this tune at all. Still excited for the full album though, i hope we get to see more cool visuals like in the trailer

Really like Holy Mountain but I have a feeling it’ll be the weakest on the album. The 3 track preview is immense!

The funny thing is I've seen a post on Twitter about Noel's solo albums - someone complained that Noel's solo work has too many ballads and Liam's albums are more rock'n'roll (and this is wrong, because Liam wrote and sung as many ballads as Noel and that's okay, I love his soft side, in-your-face-Liam becomes boring pretty soon). I wonder - what these kind of people think now. I personally think AYW has too many slower songs.

I prefer a good ballad to a bland rock number.

I was waiting to hear new music from Noel because it was supposed to be psychedelic, dancy (but not in this way) and very experimental. This single was a huge disappointment at first because I didn't expect it to sound like The Vaccines with "fatter" production. I've changed my mind now and I actually like it now, it's not a bad song. However, I still feel like Noel's vocals sound bad in the verses. Chorus is very good IMO and when you've finished the song you're actually in a great mood.

I got a theory about this album. Is just a theory. The album will be good, but people will hate it. Why? Because he announced it like a conceptual album. That means that the songs on it make sense when you listen to them all together. With HM out and the sneak peeks I can really tell that the songs have nothing to do with each other. They sound so different to what we are get used to hear from Noel. That doesn't mean that they're bad. But the 'songs' we've already heard doesn't sound cohesive in a conceptual meaning of the word. So maybe the tunes are great, but they don't sound coherent in the same album because each song sound so different, and that's why people will hate it. Exactly what I thought. How is he going to put this into his setlist? "Half the world away... Don't feel down.... Thanks very much, I've got this new tuny for you... Check it out Holy shit Mountain starts off" Holy Mountain is the second track on the album. Perhaps his changed setlist will begin with Fort Knox, roll into Holy Mountain, and kick off from there.

Quick question, will Holy Mountain chart this week or will it have to wait a week to chart?

As I already said, this is a theory just listening to the songs and reading people that gets personally offended by Holy Mountain. Obviously, its too soon to talk, but thats my thoughts on the album thats coming. Hope that I'm wrong and WBTM is the masterpiece of the decade, but honestly I think that my theory is closer to the real thing than that lol. Cheers and calm down lads, its just a mediocre song, nothing to rip your own ears off. how?! we dont have enough of the album to be able to tell how the songs will/wont fit together... Have you listened to the previews? She Taught Me To Fly sounds like YKWCGB with disco influence. IABW its psychodelic and Fort Knox is supposed to be an instrumental. Come on,the record has fucking end credits. Imagine listening to Fort Knox and then Holy Mountain. To me doesn't even make sense. But as I said in the post, its too soon to talk

Album preview only 395k on YouTube in two + weeks.. flop? So far at least, I'm positive he had to expect more interest than that

So far at least, I'm positive he had to expect more interest than that No promotion + people missed liam and that's why his new songs/concerts/interviews caught everyone's attention. Noel isn't really gone anywhere. And some people don't like what direction he's taking or just don't like his music or him in general. Many people don't listen to Liam's stuff because they don't like him and think that Noel is the talent one and some people don't listen to Noel's solo stuff because 'that beige potato has changed'.

Yeah. Maybe because they're are only snippets? Some people want to hear the full song.

Quick question, will Holy Mountain chart this week or will it have to wait a week to chart? Charts run from Fri to Thu inclusive. So it will chart this week in the 6th to 12th chart. X

fort knox aswell...and the interlude. so only 7 songs with vocals? To be honest, until we hear it for ourselves it's speculation as to how many instrumentals there are.

Album preview only 395k on YouTube in two + weeks.. flop? So far at least, I'm positive he had to expect more interest than that The Supersonic trailer in a year has only had 539k views. That's under the Oasis name. Considering the album preview was basically a commercial, I think it's doing relatively well.
