My bet is we'll hear the first single at the beginning of November. Just the way Noel operates.

We're obviously not gonna get any news from Noel's side this week. Indeed, to paraphrase, if you think you're gonna get a new Noel song this week now, you must be on glue.

Releasing it Friday to steal Liam's thunder would be pretty funny.
I just want the single now though.

Man, messaging people from the record company on Linkedin is some next level shit. The Sour Mash guys are going to realise what a bunch of desperate fuckers we are.

To be honest, if the rumours are to be believed, then perhaps that is the strategy - do nothing. Some reliable informer stated that it was going to be a relatively low key release no?

Fair play if that's the case. Perhaps this is the first time Noel has focused purely on the music without thinking about sales at all since...shit, Definitely Maybe?

Apparently Noel doing a press conference atm in Mexico City. Maybe he gets asked about the album there?

Fair play if that's the case. Perhaps this is the first time Noel has focused purely on the music without thinking about sales at all since...shit, Definitely Maybe? Yeah for sure, it's hard to believe Definitely Maybe as an album not designed to sell by the bucketloads (even though it did). Creation had very little money to promote the album. They targeted their adverts very well in a clever strategy but given the limited nature of the independent label, never in Noel's wildest dreams would it have taken off like it did. He's even stated on the radio he didn't care about how much this current one sold. Also, there may be a similarity to Definitely Maybe in that this is maybe the first album since that one where Noel's self consciousness isn't bearing down on him on a creative level. That's not another way of throwing out that old cliche 'the best since Definitely Maybe' as Noel showed that an element of creative self-consciousness can turn you into the biggest band in the world (anyone listening to Morning Glory knows that album is geared towards domination - and it sure as hell works), but he's past that stage now where he doesn't need to do that. And where Noel was self-conscious about being the biggest band in the world on Morning Glory (which wasn't a problem creatively), his latter self was self-conscious to reproduce old songs in reality, thus hampering his creativity.

One of the guys who cited song titles on here said this, I am almost certain. I was just being facetious mate :-p Here's exactly what was said: Hello, guys! I'm the one who brought the news about dates for Noels last record: live4ever.proboards.com/thread/79784/dates-new-noel-material. A friend of mine is pretty close with Noel (he was the source about the dates for CY, too) and give us some news now and then. This is nothing spectacular but he recently said "It's a conscious strategy from Noel keeping quiet and not doing much to promote the album. The album will be something special." Any more news hasseg!?

Does he want to fucking sell something or even want people to know about it or not? Noel doesn't need fanfare or "hype" to sell anything. That's just the truth. He's already made a lot of money this cycle and nothing has even been released yet. If the tunes are there the casuals will come, they're not following him like we are. I would not be in the slightest surprised if he's laying low since Liam's release is on Friday. The media will still make a big deal of Liam v. Noel, but imagine he dropped a single this week with Liam's album coming out We'll have something once the initial launch of Liam's album has passed. Id say 2-3 weeks. That much closer to the album too.

Everyone needs marketing, especially Noel. It’s easy to say that Noel’s music and reputation are good enough to move records when you’re on this forum, but they’re not. There’s a reason even Apple still markets their products despite being the most valuable brand in the world.

To be fair everytime Liam is in the press Noel gets mentioned. He probably doesn't have to lift a finger right now. These 2 albums being released so close together it's like it was planned. Probably by them....together.
