Listening party and Q&A in LA apparently Great find thanks! She has updated her twitter with impressions. Her impressions: "For those of you asking about Noel Gallagher's newest record, lotsa lotsa lotsa layers of guitars, rock and roll, and psychedelia." When asked if she liked the record: "Thank you! To be honest, too tough to tell just yet. I look forward to hearing the full record at home as opposed to an event."

I can understand if she can't give fully formed impressions. These listening parties are just that: parties, and while they are playing the new album there's a lot of industry schmoozing and Q&A. No one is really doing any close analysis of the music.
Does anyone remember the infamous first impressions for WAL written by a reporter at the listening party? He claimed it had an epic guitar solo. To this day listeners are still looking for this epic guitar solo.

It's impossible to tell the quality of an album at a listening party. But the report of there being layers of guitar, rock and roll, and psychedelia is fantastic. It's great not hearing someone in Noel's innercirlce calling it psychedlic....because those people might know what psychedelia actually is.

Also, if she heard the full album then that would calm some of my fears. That is, that the three song taster would be out there, but the rest might be fairly standard. Much like if you played me a sample of TBOTMI, Riverman, The Right Stuff, but I didn't know that Lock all the Doors, TDOTL, and YKWCGB were on there too.

More impressions from feelnumb.com's Instagram (@feelnumbpix)
"Heard only 5 songs. Awesome IMO. Kinda dance/electronic spacey. I dug it."

Usually I try to be patient with these things, but man, these details are making me really excited.

Seems weird that they'd have a listening party then release 3 tracks the next day, no?

If we're lucky there are impressions forthcoming from the press who attended the listening party. Their write ups take more time because they're more formal and may be a feature for their respective companies, so they're reluctant to give out details of what they heard.

Surely a single has to drop tomorrow right? Right? Am I right?

If this album isn't the commercial smash that outsells his debut that it deserves to be, Noel should fire Marcus Russell. That man already cost him global domination back in 1997 and he better not cost Noel an artistic comeback in 2017. How the fuck can Noel still be putting up with this shit.

Some of the itune reviews for the album are laughable. They obviously haven’t heard the album yet and are also saying Liam’s on one of the songs. Trolling in the reviews ! Ridiculous

Plus his abysmal attempt to manage the massive hype through wacky shit like releasing it on a Thursday.

Plus his abysmal attempt to manage the massive hype through wacky shit like releasing it on a Thursday. In fairness, it probably wouldn't have got him anywhere. And alright, but what was wrong with the Thursday release? It sold 7 million copies, like. It's hardly a flop. The issue with BHN was the backlash.

I was surprised to find I had "She Taught me how to Fly" (or the bits of it we've heard) caught in my head all day. I liked the tune, way more than I thought I would just based on the title (silly, sure), its got a great vibe to it. Best of the 3 IMO so far. Same here, I've only listened to the trailer 4-5 times and I've been waking up with it running through my head. Good sign!!!

Plus his abysmal attempt to manage the massive hype through wacky shit like releasing it on a Thursday. Be here now was released on a Thursday because they were worried about bootlegged copies of the album coming back from America prior to a Monday release. Albums have to ship to store earlier in the US (or certainly did then) and they were worried that if they had a Monday release on the same day in the U.K. then someone working at a US HMV might mail a copy back to the UK for bootlegging. Having said all that, I am sure the fact they picked the Thursday GCSE results came out that year was pure coincidence 😆

HMV Oxford Street London to get Be Here Now, and THEN to school to get my results. Had my priorities straight even back then! Plus the album was called Be HERE Now which I took as a message from the band - "Here" being HMV in London LOL Sorry, this is a thread about Who Built The Moon...
