Here's hoping extra track is finally Come On Outside on the deluxe. And I say this because as others have noted, the deluxe seems identical to the standard and vinyl. So there must be something different about it. Come On Outside would be brilliant in studio. But...change the fucking 'problems of the size of a cow' bit and it will be even better

The deluxe edition is a mini hardback book like the first to HFB albums. The standard CD is the normal plastic case.

I'm not feeling too good about some of the titles in that tracklist. "Keep On Reaching". "It's A Beautiful World". "Be Careful What You Wish For"... Sounds like something from an upcoming Coldplay album. Don't worry, Noel is the master at genuinely sincere and happy songs. Coldplay just come off as desperate when they write happy tunes. That's when they lost me as a band. There won't be any similarities to latter era Coldplay because (a) it's Noel Gallagher and (b) he has a similarly salt of the earth cool dude producing the album with him, whose not into sentimental drippy songs. Let's remember that David Holmes is a greater producer than anyone Coldplay have hired in the last number of years.

Probably more like the Chemical Bros if anything. Anyway, the day Noel writes a song with Beyonce is the day I give up.

If you buy it from Japan it has two extra tracks(DoTW and God Help us All). Elsewhere it has only Dead on The Water What is this thing where Japan always gets extra songs from albums?? LOL Same with Oasis material, never understood it! Because in Japan imported albums are cheaper than the Japanese edition. To let people buy Japanese edition, they (nearly) always add bonus tracks.

I hope Beautiful World leaks before friday,im so hyped. Is it out on Friday?! Is just guessing. Its the common thing (besides announcing an album without a single). Music industry in general works that way,new music arrives usually on Mondays or Fridays. Not always, but is the usual thing

If I Had A Gun sounds like the sort of song that would be blamed by the press for inciting a kid to shoot up a school in America, yet the reality is the complete opposite.

I don't think we're getting a single this week.
Just my gut feeling. Hope I'm wrong.

As I said, I like the vocal effects on Noel. The way they are manipulated means that the vocals don't stick out like a sore thumb and as a result, that ethereal vibes I picked up blend in well with the mood of the psychedelic instrumentation.
I'm not the biggest fan of his voice, I think it's pleasant but over an entire album it doesn't have the charisma, panache and energy of Liam. One of the problems is that his voice never competes well against a big guitar sound and it sinks without a trace as he struggles badly I feel (Lock All The Doors is a chore to listen to).
That said, on the stripped back tunes, his voice is lovely and clear, and the melancholy in his voice suits the more restrained High Flying Birds tracks (e.g. Death of You & Me, Broken Arrow demo, Dying of the Light demo) or indeed Oasis songs (Half The World Away, Talk Tonight).
For this style of music however, mixing and distorting the vocals up a bit will do him wonders I hope.

Never though of that, probably because we had its rather gentle title 'Forgive Me If I Spoke Too Soon' from its 2009 Soundcheck bootleg already in mind. Oh well, I still prefer that shoddy 2 minute clip over the soulless Sardy production.

I thought it was one of the most beautiful melodies Noel had ever written at the time, and I still think that with that particular performance. It was getting universal praise on this forum at the time too. It sounded very vulnerable and dreamy and no performance has captured the true essence of the song like that. It may sound unfinished but that adds to the mystery of it. More impressionistic, spontaneous and real. They really sucked out all of that allure in the studio version. I don't know, maybe they should have recorded sound checks like REM did with New Adventures In Hi-Fi and Radiohead with The Bends and incorporate elements into final studio recordings. They lost the magic of that song very badly.

My first post in this thread was a bit to violent against the chief
I still have no expectations for the album but I apologize for being rude
It triggered an awsome discussion anyway

Not keen on the album or song titles but then i heard the teasers and now i am super keen!
This will polarise his fan base like never before, those too fickle to have an open mind can keep their mouth shut and stick to the oasis albums.
No sympathy for some of the comments on facebook criticising him for not trying to write another 'don't look back in anger'.

There is one thing I don't understand. Do you remember what Noel said like 1 year ago about the new album ?
”. “Can I point out that it’s not electronic? Everyone thinks that it’s an electronic record, and it isn’t,” Noel told Canadian publication Exclaim. “Well, not yet, anyway. The first six tracks aren’t electronic. For some reason they all associate David [Holmes] with electronic music. To be honest, I was hoping we might do something electronic, but it’s turning out to be a rock’n’roll record, which is fine with me.”
How do you reconcile this with the trailer we have heard? Maybe they changed direction ? Maybe there's different types of songs in the album ?

Maybe there's different types of songs in the album ? i think those snippets are designed to get a buzz - like the album is all rad sounding. and likely it is - to some extent- but i bet you there is a pretty straightforward verse-chorus with a lot of these tunes after the electronics have kicked in at the top- or wherever.

Has it been mentioned that Fort Knox was used on Sky's Monday Night Football?

The officially released IIHAG demo isn't half bad - very simple but it has the same emotional weight of that soundcheck (which the Sardy version completely lost).

Sure, there are drum loops and all that, but it's not like Noel has gone IDM or something. The third track is very traditional in terms of instrumentation.
