Based on the clips I'm expecting a bunch of the tunes to have this feel. Great stuff.

Wow, so much shite and speculation from 30 second snippets!!
Imagine if the first thing we knew about SOTSOG back then was a 30 second clip of Fuckin' in the Bushes that included the samples. People would surely have gone "They sold out! Electronic music is for idiots! Fuck sampling!"

I wonder, people saying that It's A Beautiful World sounds like Coldplay or U2 (again, based on a 30-sec clip!!!) probably think Chinatown sounds like Black Sabbath or something...

I’m trying to get into my way back machine now, I tend to remember the first thing we ever heard from SOTSOG was an acoustic performance of “Who Feels Love?” for Y100 in Philadelphia. I then remember “Fucking In The Bushes” leaking early from a vinyl promo copy early January. Last we heard “Go Let It Out” in mid January 2000. So yeah, wild times and sounds from the new oasis.

Yeah I remember that Who Feels Love? version. Lots of people started saying that the album was going to be full on 60's psychedelic music. I'm pretty sure though Go Let It Out was given its debut on Boxing Day 1999? Did I dream that? Man, so long ago...

I like that he didn't compare it to an Oasis album. He instead said that it was the best of his solo albums.
That says a lot about where he is in his career.

According to this article from January 4, 2000, the video was just released: www.mtv.com/news/1432799/oasis-debuts-go-let-it-out-video-online-noel-calls-clip-rubbish/ So the song was probably indeed given its debut the week before. At least that's what I remember. Could be wrong of course.

Anyone who thinks that electronica or dance music is some modern, trendy, pop fad needs to fucking educate themselves. This stuff wasn't exactly visionary when Noel did it with The Chemical Brothers TWENTY FUCKING YEARS AGO. And that was an actual #1. I only hope Noel has made an album which bitterly disappoints anyone who thinks like that. Couldn't put it better myself. And from what the odd objectors are saying, it's as if he's hired David fucking Guetta to produce his album. By the way, if Lennon & McCartney were around today as 20 something year olds, they'd be making electronic records. Paul actually did it, with his Fireman side project.

The time is right for a change, on the past two albums Noel was trying to establish himself as a viable solo artist, and now that his solo career is a sucess, he can do anything with his music, now he is comfortable as a musician to experiment new sounds. Same for Liam, it's only his first album so he will keep the basic, over time he will grow as an artist and try new things with his songs. This for me (based on 30 second clips) is so fresh and exciting, look Liam has some nice bits for sure but it’s what we have had for 20 years and we have the albums to revisit should we choose to. But Noel’s has the possible promise to be something different, if it’s not the usual cup of tea for people then skip this album, play an old one or wait for the next one. For me there is a dance, electric elements BUT I’m getting interesting grooves and baselines for sure, I’m actually getting COLUMBIA vibes from the baseline towards the end of what we assume is Fort Knox and that excites me big time. I’m really hopeful for this album and I hope Noel nails some sort of Rock/dance/electro fusion properly. The AA stuff I heard was tedious and dare I say it far too self indulgent, I really had to try hard to even get near to liking it. This preview certainly isn’t like that.

I remember reactions to Go Let It Out. At the time, people thought the bass scratch was a turntable scratch, and mocked Noel with accusations he was trying hard, and failing, to sound new and innovative.

I mean, keeping to the same old traditional sound time and time and time again (the only music that, allegedly, "guys in their thirties feel comfortable with") is the only way forward. It means being huge and selling shitloads of albums. Worked for Beady Eye didn't it - they had chart toppers everywhere and their albums sold by the bucketloads. I seem to recall them getting to play stadiums too with their nostalgia infused music.... Also incredible to think that only those who stubbornly stick to a genre of rock music and nothing else are "educated people". Who'd have thought it? It's obvious of course - Dave Berry, Tim Lovejoy and Chris Moyles are all geniuses... I dont consider myself an educated listner and I dont pretend to be one. You got my post all the other way round. I just think the bulk of the gallagher brothers public aint open minded listeners either. Beady eye was a big failure. Theres nothing to discuss there. And not playing any oasis songs combined with shitty tunes was a big part of it. Noel is in my opinion not going to buy any new public with this move and he might end up disconected with his base. Anyway, if he is happy with his work then good for him. I guess the public is gonna encore all the moon chorus. I don't know if it's quite so clear-cut, regarding reaching a new audience. I mean, I'd love for Noel to put out a proper pop/rock album in the vein of Oasis. It's what he does best. But imagine the Beatles deciding against doing Sgt. Pepper because "the kids want She Loves You and Yesterday, not this oddball stuff". I turned 40 this year. I was in my late teens when Oasis conquered the world, and they changed my life. While I consider myself musically educated and have broad tastes, it's true: Their brand of pop will always and forever be my main love. But right now I'm enjoying getting the best of both worlds: Liam's giving me a proper pop/rock album with echoes of Oasis, and Noel's going out there and pushing himself in a new direction. I'll have both, all day. Give me both deluxe sets, and tickets for each of their tours. And I think I'll be seeing kids at both shows. There's always a new generation ready to take up the cause.

SCYHO was the anthem for the English squad during the 2002 World Cup. Also featured in the Butterfly Effect. Fan of that film Had a massive disagreement with my mate about that, he thought i was crazy, i thought he was. Theres two versions of the Butterfly Effect, perhaps its just the 'European' version which has SCYHO at the end. Amazing tune and used well in that film at the end

I feel that - from these clips at least - Noel is finally writing songs more suited to his vocals. Often in HFB and CY there were songs which would have been better suited for Liam, whereas these songs sound - so far anyway - like they are suited to his voice. These clips grow on me more after every listen, they sounds fantastic! All 3 equally sound great. Ah we are lucky people this year. Liam back to doing what he does best, but with a higher quality of voice and songs, and Noel pushing into the great unknown. Totally agree, its embarassing when fans 'take sides' like we're in some Take That forum and girls are arguing over who they fancy the most or something Liams sounding much better, sold out his tour, tunes are sounding good (as obviously hes not the strongest songwriter so its good hes had some help). Noels not releasing an album where you think 'damn be great to have heard Liam sing that song...' which is a bit 'different' to the usual. Liam tour later this year, Noels next year. Still gutted they're not together but this is the best thing, the worlds a better place when BOTH Gallaghers are doing well

Liams album would have been dreadful with no collaborators. Scorpio Rising was Co written with Death In Vegas anyway. It wasn't co-written by DIV, it's solely their tune, Liam's only singing on it. My point was that Warner might have chosen some more adventurous writing team. Maybe solo album #2 but i can see why Sony played it safe. Get his name out there again after years in the wilderness, get him some help writing the tunes and make them a 'bit' more popular for non-Oasis fans. Its worked out well, i love Liam but i thought he would struggle to sell arenas, 15 minutes later when it was sold out i was totally proven wrong. Noels different as he can just get a #1 album with hardly any hype, with Liam he needed months of promoting singles, doing gigs etc - and its worked. But i always thought Liams album would be a 'Force Awakens' safe type of album (E.g just a copy star wars!) as Sony want this to work. If he came out with a totally different style of album i personally reckon they would flop as the comeback album.
