I doubt either Gallagher will release an album this year. Obviously...

The most interesting things in the picture are the amp and guitar. Twin Reverb and Jazzmaster? I'm excited to see what he's doing with them! Like carlober said, that amp is very clean, good for bluesy sounds with some reverb. Both John Squire and Johnny Marr used it a lot. I'm not sure about the guitar. Are there much differences between Jazzmaster and Jaguar? I know Johnny Marr and Kurt Cobain used Jaguar. Squire used some kind of custom Jaguar at one point.

My guess of the day: the album is going to be middle of the road as f*ck! It will be revolutionary, one of a kind, completely groundbreaking as the single most MOR album of all times! Nah, I expect the same thing CY did when compared to HFB - try a few things here or there (What a Life and BOTMI did really well, so you bet he's gonna do more in that style), have one or two tracks that really sound like Oasis, and the rest safely in between. Which isn't a bad thing - the mix on CY was just right imo.

When DBTT came out, it was a return to form.
When NGHFB came out, it was his best material since the '90s
When CY came out, it was even better than NGHFB
A pattern emerges.

Anybody seen david beckhams comment? Haha Did he have a flashback to 1996 and wonder aloud if he might (sadly not) break into the England side in time for Euro 1996?

- When Dig Out Your Soul came out Noel said this is the album they should have made after Be Here Now! I'll have to be honest, it does come quite close I think. The two albums before that were lackluster efforts in my opinion. I think you can place Dig Out Your Soul between Be Here Now and Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants when it comes to the "direction of sound"...

Early Bee Gees is always a good thing! Still have to get my hands on the "Yellow Album", which sounds really great... Thanks Oasis!

looking like september time next year then if he really is cracking on with it, maybe finish it up around march then allowing for a break and pre release build. I guess that does sound right considering he put that pic of him in the studio on his birthday 10 months before the second album actually came out. We will probably see Liam's new album first. As far as I understand it Liam hasn't even started recording his album yet has he? He's demoed it and just signed a contract but not started recording it properly? So Noel could well get in there first still having already recorded half an album...

I have no idea at what pace they both record their stuff nowadays and how it works with management and releasing and all.

I dont believe Liam has started recording, hes made comments like “The main thing is, the voice is sounding delicious, It’s still banging it. Then there’s nice falsetto bits. Bit chilled." which sound like hes recorded it and commenting on it but that could merely be the demos, I cant believe he wouldve already recorded it. seeing as hes only just signed a deal, Im assuming hes still working on it with warner bros, someone mentioned hes co writing or something so maybe hes still fine tuning lyrics with someone etc. as this point Noel could easily aim for march if he really wanted, finish the recording up and announce around christmas but that would be pretty rapid for Noel and wouldnt leave much time for a break etc then Liam did say he wanted it recorded this year and released next year which would also probably put him around march time.

Why? "Next year" could be..well, anytime next year! well yea but I doubt hes going to record it this year then wait right until the end of next year to release it, why bother doing it this year in that case. Im just going on my own assumption, I just cant see Liam doing a Noel with CY of winding up recording then leaving it nearly a year before he puts it out, hes had a break and now hes getting back into it. DGSS was recorded between june-november 2010 released in February 2011 BE was recorded november 2012 - march 2013 released in june 2013 so really march would be realistic for Liam if he wraps up this year which he might not, of course warner bros might recommend otherwise this time around.

There is probably very little chance they will release the albums at the same time and put them head to head? Noel would obviously win that one, but could increase sales For both.

Of course Noel will win that, but it would be close I think. I mean, a lot of people didn't even know that BE was released.

I also think neither of them will have a #1 album. Well NGHFB have had both albums at #1 in the UK, so I think he would be in with a fair shout again if the interest remains as it is. Liam is a different proposition although with DGSS he had a #3 chart position which was bettered to #2 although granted the singles mostly tanked- BE- Official Charts Company With his own name on the record and renewed interest he may well be in with a shout as well, given that he nearly managed it in a band that wasn't as well known outside the Oasis fan base as his original band.

Unless a major pop star like Rihanna or Beyoncé dropped an album the same day, Noel is almost guaranteed a number 1 in the U.K. With Blossoms getting the lowest ever selling number 1 recently Liam has a chance in a week without stiff competition too. BDI weren't far off, they were just a bit unlucky.

I sincerely hope that Noel puts more effort into his 3rd album than he did with with the Chasing Yesterday tour.
