It's like The Beatles doing ELO who are doing Abba on cocaine, sunshine and love.

Sounded a bit ABBA to me, but wasn't a great recording. Melody is nice. Look forward to the official version.

Yeah, debut was strong and West Ryder was important for me when it was released but I don't consider them to be that good now.

That Gallagher brother ego seeped in and never left. Problem was they never accomplished any of the shit Oasis did so it comes off cheap and phony.

I think it happens to every band that relies more on youthful energy, current inspiration...than on some real musical talent in classical way. That happened to Oasis, when Noel lost that inspiration that only young man can have, they were done as a band. They didn't have anything else to offer. Yeah, they had few good moments in this century but none of that will be really relevant in history of music. Same happened to Libs, Kasabian etc. Every band that has something more to offer, that knows to play more than 3 chords on guitar and sing pop tunes over it, can still be good or even better in their 30s, 40s... Pink Floyd recorded best albums when they were 30 something. Classical composers wrote some of their best music before they died. And I think that there are some good musicians in Arcade Fire and that they have never really relied that much on energy and all that so I believe that we can expect more good music from them. Kasabian is over.

I hate this song
What is this garbage?
What have they done?
Ok. I like the bass.
Everything Now
Why am I dancing?
Na na na na na. Na
They've done it again.

Arcade Fire and funk - can't get better than that. Love that bassline, love those windpipes whatever they're called. It's gonna be a big one on the setlist.

Pretty good. Nice contrast between the darkness of the lyrics and the brightness of the chorus. Not one of my all-time Fire favourites but I like it and now I can't wait for the album.
Reginne looking far too cool for the rest of them in that vid.
Every room in my house is filled with shit that I couldn't live without

Meh for me. Lacks too much of melodies on first listen. Will give a second try.

Never caught up with you on the topic - I remember you liking Crown of Love on first listen - but what's your overall opinion on Arcade Fire?

Never caught up with you on the topic - I remember you liking Crown of Love on first listen - but what's your opinion on Arcade Fire? Don't really have one. I've heard Funeral a couple of times and it's obviously great, and I have The Suburbs sat in my iTunes library, waiting to be listened to - but that's it. I'm meeting up with my best mate from school to see them play Manchester on July 6th, so I plan to get to know them a bit better before then. I like to be able to sing along at gigs, otherwise I don't really know what to do with mesen.

You've got a lot of great music to listen to, especially The Suburbs - that's a genuine, actual masterpiece as far as I'm concerned
