It's okay but sounds more like a gospel refrain rather than a full tune. I like the groove and the hip-hop style loops in it though, so sonically might give indications of the new album. Seems like it was released as a tune to coincide with tomorrow's dreaded event more than anything though - no press release or anything so perhaps just a taster?

But for me, Funeral is their magnum opus. Reflektor, I've listened to it again these last days and I don't know what to think about it yet (not that bad or bang average), but it is by far their worst album, imo. My favourite Arcade Fire song is "Tunnels". |

It's a decent throwaway protest tune for the inauguration. Some good bits in it, very catchy, and I always love Win's cynical speaking voice (Where do ya think it all comes from?) - but certainly no Neighbourhood #3. Definitely hope it's not on LP5 and I very much doubt it will be.

They did the same thing for Reflektor. Did a handful of private gigs in Montreal and performed many new songs. No cameras. No videos. The fans took to reddit to describe stuff and it was awesome. No lies. All that stuff was as talked about. The levee is about the break. You can feel it. I really want just a sudden album drop in the next few weeks. World tour starts in 3 weeks and not a word on the album. Something has gotta give and soon. |
