First glimpse of a potential new song. Sounds like 1974-1975 Bowie. Funky! https://www.reddit.com/r/arcadefire/comments/5ainkd/a_little_glimpse_of_lp5_with_the_band_in_studio/

Anyone thinking of a spring release here? Festivals in the summer so about right? I've considered that but Tim's solo album comes out in March and he's doing a mini tour all that month. A spring Arcade Fire album might be stepping on that too much. Granted no one will buy that and AF is the bread winner. Early summer sounds like it.

Always exciting to have Arcade Fire back in the mix. A June album sounds about right to me. Let's get it!!!!!

Waiting for the new album to come, I've listened to the 4 albums again the last two days.
Funeral is a masterpiece. It's the only one that is almost perfect from start to finish.
Neon Bible and The Suburbs have a few "weak" songs here and there but these are still excellent albums.
It was only the second time I listened to Reflektor. I need more listens but as for now, I think this is their "weakest" album . I still think it's good, but I don't know, I just think the songs are not on the same level. Will listen to it again in the next days.
As far as I'm concerned, Arcade Fire were the best band of the 2000's.

That performance of Reflektor is great. What a fucking tune. It's not mentioned too much but Reflektor I think has the strongest opening to an album for the 2010s personally with the title track and We Exist. Amazingly for disco infused tunes, you'd expect them to be quite light but they both feel really dark with pretty alienated lyrical themes. It's the perfect start to ease your way into a double album.

I still find the slight condemnation of Reflektor baffling: sure, a couple of tunes could be trimmed and the flow could be evened out somewhat - but it's still a superb album all around. I really enjoy every song on it (not least the catchy carnival of fun that is Flashbulb Eyes) and it's an imaginative mix of disco, rock, and African rhythms. The artwork is great, the production is great, the tour was great, and all round I think the album is great. It's not quite Funeral or The Suburbs - but then how many albums are?

I've been saying it since it's release. Reflektor is like The White Album. Not in terms of global impact of musical influence but how it so much variety to it. You got disco, new wave, punk, neo punk, rock, pop, electronica, carnivalesque and some funk. Something for everyone. PS.......Flashbulb Eyes still sucks. Rally killer and it's a shame because it appears so early on the album.

I've taken to Flashbulb Eyes, I like its lyrics - I like to think that there's a bit of thematic continuity to its lyrics about social media overload (e.g. Reflektor) and how people bare their souls by releasing every damn photograph they've taken of themselves, but in reality, reveal nothing of much substance.

Sounds like that song Kanye sampled from Ray Charles for Gold Digger.

Still better than that ghastly new Gorrilaz tune. Hopefully neither of them are on their respective albums. More Reflektor / Clint Eastwood tunes, please.
