I'd Pick You Every Time and The Good Rebel are the High Flying Birds' versions of She Is Love and (Probably) All In The Mind. With that in mind, I'd pick 'I'd Pick You Every Time' every time.

I know I'm going to get scolded for this, but the one I like the least is A Simple Game of Genius. The intro is nice, but the rest is bland and doesn't go anywhere. The melody lacks variation and there are no surprises in the arrangement. It's one song that I neither love nor hate, it just leaves me absolutely cold. That souncheck improvisation had a nice riff and sounded promising, but the final version is a missed opportunity and, unlike IIHAG, this time it's entirely the songwriter's fault.
The Good Rebel, I'd Pick You..., The Mexican and the last two b-sides are not Noel's greatest songs, but I find people really exaggerate about them on this forum. I like them all.

Don't want to look like a fangirl here, but this list shows just how good his songwriting has been in the last 6 or 7 years
Anyway, back on topic,I'd say The Good Rebel and it's not even close, awful tune Then I'd say Revolution Song and Stop The Clocks I don't mind Here's A Candle,Leave My Guitar Alone and The Mexican (I didn't like it at first, but the live version kinda made me change my mind),they're good fun

Good Rebel and Here's A Candle. But they are B-sides, so I don't mind.

If you have voted for What A Life or TDOYAM you obviously either don't have ears or you have no taste

I love everything he's ever written.
Seriously. That's why I'm here.

You Know We Can't Go Back because it's lazy songwriting and produced like a Miley Cyrus song.

Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks
The most of bsides were better than this song. For me, it's a really filler.

Never understood the hate for The Good Rebel, I'd Pick You Every Time The Mexican, and Here's a Candle. The first two are much better versions of PAITM and She Is Love and convey much more emotion than their HC counterparts. The Mexican, on the other hand would've made an excellent single and is very enjoyable. And Here's a Candle is not meant to be much, but it delivers despite the fact that it's a throwaway!

Why do people not like Dream On? It's catchy as fuck. And enjoyable live. And covers the bases of basic British guitar pop/rock of the last 50 years (seriously).

Here's a Candle
Mainly because it is extremely cheesy, and a complete throwaway, so I can't fault it too much.
After that, I'd say Shoot a Hole Into the Sun, and then I'd Pick You Every Time. Shoot a Hole Into the Sun is basically a remix of If I Had a Gun, and I'd Pick You Every Time is a pretty little song, but pales in comparison to the others.
Not sure what the hate for The Mexican is all about. That song has an insanely infectious riff and chord progression, and it's only the lyrics that let it down, to me. Other than that, it's a well-written song, and what I'd consider to be the Hey Now! of Chasing Yesterday (bar the lyrics), if we were to compare it to WTSMG.

The Right Stuff, by a mile. Worst. Awful. Terrible. If any of you like it, I'd like to hear why.

I do like The Good Rebel, loved it live. Not saying its a brilliant song but its a good little number with an uplifting, triumphant feel that comes so easily to Noel.

If you asked me what song is better, soldier boys and jesus freak or the good rebel, I easily will choose the second one.
