His temperament is totally unfit for the White House. As should have been obvious to anyone with half a brain during the election.
Closing your eyes and wishing it will get better, won't make it better. We have a loose cannon for a President. And the idea that the people around him will calm him, is still the most laughable statement of this election next to emails having some importance.

And you can be absolutely certain he won't be calm and collected when another country stands up to him or gets under his skin. War with Iran anyone or even China?!?!?!

I did notice in the 'Washington Post' article on the immigration based directives aside from the Mexican border wall being estimated at $20,000,000,000 also contained this reference-
Aides said the actions include a directive to Kelly to examine ways to limit federal funding to “sanctuary cities” — including Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco — that do not report undocumented immigrants to federal authorities.- Washington Post Link
I have to say I have lost any hope I had the man was simply talking the most absurdist policies to gain votes from ignorant types- he intends to carry out his slogans to the worst possible conclusions from what I can see.
As to clashes I would assume any flash point is going to be in the South China Sea, although I still cannot see open conflict as aside from the military cost for both sides the two countries are currently so economically dependant on each other that it would devastate both economies. I know the Chinese are focusing on BRICS and other emerging African/Asian markets but that will take time and in some cases is politically sensitive due to the aforementioned South China Sea amongst other issues.
It also depends with the man being as unpredictable as he is carrying out any withdrawal of US Forces in Far East Asia in favour perhaps of selling arms to Japan and South Korea for example, itself a dangerous move given that a lack of opposing presence for the US will see China and Russia exert economic, military and political influence in the region which in turn will lose these allies and perhaps markets to the USA. He has talked about wastage in the military and obviously there has for a long time been massive budgets as part of the whole complex, but whether he will actually understand any implications for whatever course of action he intends to follow remains to be seen.
So in summary Donald Trump has nothing to back up his claims thus far and the only fact in all of this is his own people are registered to vote in multiple states?

That's video shows he's delusional. When he's faced with the facts he goes against them. That is psychosis.

It's also a trait of narcissism- I know I have posted the narcissist check list, etc. in dark humour already but it is another symptom to deny reality and attack any facts that go against their warped view of said reality.

It's amazing that someone could be that thin skinned. Hard to find a recent president like that.....maybe Nixon? It's not a trait that fits the office very well.

Trevor Timm did an article in July last year for The Guardian looking at the parallels between Nixon and Trump, although hopefully the man won't last half as long as the 37th President did- Trump/Nixon- The Parallels Are Startling

This.
On a related note I've seen Ed Miliband call for Theresa May to push Donald Trump on his domestic and foreign policies, in particular the Paris Climate Agreement, whilst Jeremy Corbyn asked if she would question him on his misogyny- predictably she deflected most of the questioning whilst bleating on about the "special relationship" between the two countries, trying to score points off Corbyn as she did so- CNN Article
The idea that any US President would take direction from the UK Government is questionable at the best of times, but in the case of Donald Trump is anyone in the UK seriously expecting any European or other leader for that matter to influence the man in a positive way? At best he will essentially ignore her and any other critics, and at worst it will push him into making even more disastrous decisions led by his delusions of infallibility, ego and warped view of the world.
As spaneli has pointed out the man is a loose cannon, and with the potential to cause unthinkable damage both in the USA and around the world.

The apparent willingness of certain UK politicians, Theresa May chief among them, to kowtow to Trump and his cohorts sickens me to my stomach.

I'm not wanting to start a huge battle over this, but if I may ask anyone who cares to respond...
What are you actively doing now to resolve all the issues you speak of?

I ask, because all I see going on around me is a lot of moaning but ZERO actual action.
For clarification, I don't care for Trump either.

Would I ever leave this company? Look, I’m all about loyalty. In fact, I feel like part of what I’m being paid for here is my loyalty. But if there were somewhere else that valued loyalty more highly… I’m going wherever they value loyalty the most.

I don't "moan". I've protested. I've voted. I've contacted my local congressman, both my senators, and I've already cleared room in my school schedule to volunteer for the DNC.
But even "moaning" is doing something about it. It's better than being silent.

In terms of Donald himself not a great deal TBH as I am a) in the UK and b) short of a reenactment of Dallas 1963 (NG type disclaimer- "for legal reasons can I just say I am not actually advocating that") I am not really sure barring protests against his plans en masse what more can be done at the present, unless something changes that makes his position too untenable, be it business, personal or political.
As to the rise of fascist and hard line right wing politics in Europe personally I am involved with a number of local political organisations as despite having differing opinions on more long term politics we need to unite against an immediate and very real threat to society. I am not saying we are the solution alone because we simply aren't, but I would hope that like those US citizens who didn't want Donald Trump and are prepared to confront some of his most destructive and negative policies, we can confront similar ideologies here by working with others across the UK and indeed Europe to make small inroads at least in the beginning.
Where I agree with what I think you are saying is words do indeed need to be backed by actions, and the protests witnessed against the man are IMO a part of that. This is a unique time because at any other point in recent history if an Asian or East European leader for example had said we are demonising elements of society, building walls and reversing progress than I think the USA would have been part of the group of countries condemning such actions.
Now however we have as the leader of militarily and politically the strongest nation on earth along with one of the two largest economies a loose cannon, as others have aptly described him. This is not like so many Western political debates a matter of differing points of view sometimes blown up into hysteria simply because sides cannot agree, the man and his policies in this instance are genuinely frightening for a large number of people living and working in the USA. He is also an influence for hard line right wing types elsewhere who will see his victory as proof of what can be achieved by such methods, and therefore indirectly he causes problems in that respect.
This is why IMO pressure and scrutiny must be applied to his tenure in office however long that may be to try and at least fight some of his more outright discriminatory ideas and policies in order to protect freedoms mostly gained during the previous century.
Apologies if I have rambled or missed any of the point @kitjenson (although as you have previously pointed out in other threads you expect long winded replies from me! ) As always my best regards to all the people in the USA and indeed worldwide who are standing up for the hope of a better world

What CAN we do but protest? Trump and his cronies have us by the balls. I went to the Women's March in D.C. and I'll be going back there again for all the other marches currently being planned (Climate, Immigrants, LGBTQ, Science, Release Your Motherfucking Tax Returns You Pussy, et al). I'll go to Standing Rock if I have to! And if Texas goes after Austin because they refuse to comply with Trump's anti-immigrant/refugee agenda, I'll go there to march too! It's important to come together and feel unity in times like these. And it shows the world we are not going to back down. When the midterm elections come around, we have the opportunity to express our dismay by voting out these fucktards and getting more voices from the left in Congress. Then in 4 years, we can get rid of Drumpf (if he hasn't been impeached yet) and turn this thing around. Compassionate people everywhere are energized and we can turn this into a progressive political movement if we keep at it and get organized.
themasterplanet: A Northern Soul by The Verve! My second favourite album by them. I love the atmosphere of it, it’s very dreamy and melancholic and dark. It holds many memories for me and I think that’s partly responsible for why I love it so much.

Bring It On Dan: I have so much shit on an old hard drive somewhere but I just cannot find it. Nothing 'out there' but probably 200 gigs or so. I can't remember the name of the site that had all the gigs listed and sources for loads of gigs next to it? I remember RKID 003.
