I must admit, I've written a lot of vile abuse about Trump supporters on here, but had to immediately delete it as I realised a good number of them make up this forum.

Shkreli is a massive bellend and everyone, including himself, knows it. In fact, he even claimed recently that he'd be auctioning off a chance to punch him in the face; of course, he was too chicken to follow through. And I don't even care that he owns the only copy of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, it's nothing compared to price gouging drugs on WHO's list of Essential Medicines.

I can see the US election going the same way as Brexit and Trump winning. It's lining up exactly like that.

So, uhm, what I'm going to say is probably not that important but I still think it's worth the try. I don't think any option is actually good. It's pretty much what was happening here recently: you have a crazy guy in one side with weird ideas and whose arguments are bland (and who's addicted to cocaine, though I can't say 100% sure that Trump is) and on the other, a woman whose Party had been in the power and that has affiliations with someone who once stood in the power but now everyone is against with reasons to be. And from being one who saw this happen, I can tell y'all this is going to result in shit; the difference is the kind of shit: one is going to be elephant's while the other is going to be donkey's, and both are smelly and dirty no matter the origin. So, even if there's a "less worse" option, I'd say you need to brace yourself for some situations. I can't truly point out which one is the worst case there as I am not american nor am searching for the candidates' entire lives, nor can I say to "choose wisely" because no move is going to be wise right now. So... yeah, no matter if the result is the one you chose or not, get ready for a shitstorm, because it's going to happen sooner or later -- and here it happened sooner than I expected, so I was not ready.

So the FBI are reopening Clinton's email case? Yep, my earlier post was right, Trump is going to win this. Clinton is the only candidate in the whole of US politics that Trump could actually beat. Bonkers stuff.

Bonkers stuff. Before everyone rejoices, from what I understand, the new emails weren't from her private server, so the implications of this discovery aren't clear just yet. Save the partying for when all the info is out

I don't always agree with everything George Monbiot has to say but he at least has a go at making proper arguments for his points of view as opposed to simple mud slinging and name calling. Noam Chomsky has been a prominent figure in political thought for decades so you can't really go too far wrong with him, and it's himself via Bill Hicks that influences much of Frankie Boyle's political thoughts as far as I can tell. I do still read media coverage I don't on principle agree with as well as non-British or Western sources in order to gain a rounded picture of the overall view points on political subjects, although that is purely my own way of doing things and if you already have your own political point of view without wishing to deviate from it then there is no real reason to do so.

Bonkers stuff. This has really become quite the mess. A once leading light for democracy (okay I'm referring primarily to the 1800's but hey ho ) is reduced to a choice between an amoral power obsessed warmonger and her more than questionable to say the very least husband, or a megalomaniac businessman who through money, rhetoric and a lack of any understanding of the implications of his election by a lot of people has seen what probably started off as a joke/PR stunt/wishful thinking (see H. Ross Perot in 1992) become a frighteningly possible reality. The thing about Trump I will say from an accountancy point of view (bear with me!) having worked for or alongside a fair amount of successful businessmen and women is that being a successful businessman or woman does not necessarily make you intelligent- It simply proves you happen to be good and/or have had luck at the particular business field that you are in. Unfortunately the Mammon worship of both money and celebrity means that success and intelligence these days are often equated as one and the same, which is a very dangerous line of thought for the masses. My personal view based on the two candidates thus far and assuming they even carried out their respective manifestos is Donald Trump would be more disastrous for the USA domestically and it's immediate continental American neighbours, whilst Hillary Clinton would be in the same vein but to the wider world by exacerbating situations in Asia (China/North Korea), Europe (Russia/Turkey) and the Middle East (Daesh/Iran/Iraq/KSA/Syria, etc.) into potentially catastrophic conventional or even nuclear confrontations. In any case I think neither if I am trying to be rational are suitable candidates for any form of public office, and can only hope we are at the cusp of a sea change culturally, politically and socially brought about by such events as this rather than the continuing and rising corruption, greed and outright lunacy that has plagued so much of the world in modern times.

To quote my liberal friend:
The NYTimes has Clinton with a 90+% chance of being President on January 20th. I'd like to know the odds that Tim Kaine is President by March. This thing will not go away.

Beyond idiotic twitter status, but it's twitter so it's as to be expected. I'd rather have someone running a country who might have said some stupid stuff rather than someone who twice during an election is under FBI investigation, sells uranium to Russia but then complains about how they have nuclears weapons and misquotes everything the opposition makes to further themselves in the running be in the commander in chief privilege. Used to identify myself as a liberal but after seeing the Republican party demonized through the primaries and the main elections, I don't know how anyone who backs someone as unethical as Hillary Clinton can honestly be a level headed person. And that isn't sour grapes, that's facts that have been seen that have been used to base an assessment on someone rather than someone forcing an agenda or acting on special interests, which if you've seen the emails or read the Clinton Cash book, you know is the case with democratic party. It's been hard as a brown male to see Trump labeled a racist when I've been watching his rallies live since early 2016 and know he's nothing of the sort, if he was I'd straight up be like fuck off Rebublicans, the Democratic party is where it's at. I implore every American on this forum to think do I either want a leader who might say silly things but has a good financial mind and passion for running the country and will bring in people who are worth it or do I wan't some who has been with a party for 30 years, be accused of negligence in the face of the Benghazi attacks, be funded by the same countries she classes as deplorable, has been investigated by the FBI TWICE in the past year who will stick to the same regime be the commander in chief. Change might be scary, but it's what is needed at this moment in time. Which other president would threaten a company like ford with over inflation should they leave the US for so called greener pastures in places like Mexico. If you take everything into account and still feel the democratic party is the best for you, this opinion will be respected, but I feel that with the current sway of the mainstream media, the other side of the spectrum needs to be represented. Sure you might see an opinion on NBC or CBS, but also have a look on places like Breitbart or more neutral places than the alt right movement sites. This will probably completely dismissed but I'm sick and tired of forces so dishonest and corrupt be put into power and then the people getting angry at it.

And calling Breitbart a 'neutral place' - let alone implying it is a credible news site which ignores stone cold facts - is delusion of the highest order.
Get a grip. Fantasist bullshit all of this is.

This is the exact type of crap that makes me fear for the human race. The fact that something like that small sentence in an entire opinion piece is used against someone stating their opinion. But fuck my opinion for the time being, what FACTUAL basis do you have for disagreeing with that. And if you use Donald losing millions as one, the country is losing TRILLIONS at the moment. Looking forward to your response, though frankly judging by your other one, I don't think there's a mature bone in your body.
