That’s what I thought too before (I’m initially from France) but realized that things are different, especially since Obama’s first campaign in 2008. A lot of his propositions were very reminiscent of socialist president Francois Mitterrand in the 80’s and ended up killing the French economy. To this day France suffers from these socialists visions and can never get to the level of the UK and Germany economically speaking. One of the reasons I was never an Obama supporter. I'm 4th generation louisianans. My family on both sides, going back many, many generations were hardcore democrats...i was until Obama's 2nd term. My family are sugar cane farmer's and small business owners, after watching most of them loose their farmers and small businesses... we all became Republicans. I don't regret voting for Trump and I'll do it again. When you've watched hard working people loose everything to regulations and government over reach as a result of the Democrat leadership .. you understand the destruction that a socialist society can do. So, hell no to Bernie and Oprah. And before you throw the racist accusations.... none of my family were slave owners.. They were actually considered slaves because they were so freaking poor. If you think Trump cares about you or your family you are deluded. He inherited a billionaires fortune and lives in a tower with a gold lift. He wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire. Not to mention what a fucking horrible racist misogynist excuse for a human being he is.

are you sure? he'll be pushing 80 by the time he takes office. agreed with you on oprah, however i would be interested to hear her policies and what she intends to do. if nothing else she would bring some dignity, respect and decency back to the oval office. He's the most popular politician in the US, I guess that must count for something. Of course the age thing could be a concern, but Warren and Biden are in their 70's as well so... Sure, she seems like a decent person and could possibly be for good policies and etc, but this celebrity thing should be put to bed as soon as possible. Really? If he was so popular than how come he didn't get the Democrats support?

Because he was largely unknown in the beginning of the primaries, and while his popularity grew more and more as more people heard him speak, the time wasn't enough to completely close the gap. And also because of the corruption within the democratic party.

Here’s an interesting hypothetical:
Using hindsight as well as using the present....
Would you go back to the 2012 election and vote for Mitt Romney (instead of Barack Obama) knowing that Romney’s two presidential terms of 2012-2016 & 2016-2020 would have prevented the rise of Donald Trump?

Boom. Less than 3 years to the 2020 election, this doesn’t bode well for the anti-Trump brigade....

Boom. Less than 3 years to the 2020 election, this doesn’t bode well for the anti-Trump brigade.... Winced at that woman at the end blustering about wanting to take her country back. Is that right, love? May I ask from where? And from whom? Brings to mind a bit of Orwell: "All that was required of [the proles] was a primitive patriotism which could be appealed to whenever it was necessary to make them accept longer working-hours or shorter rations."

Being born in a specific country and living there means very little. We're all sitting on a rock spining around a nondescript star in the middle of nowhere. Nationalism appeals to the very base instincts.

Trump immigration proposal could provide path to citizenship for 1.8 million in US illegally
The White House Thursday released an immigration plan that would offer a path to citizenship for approximately 1.8 million of the so-called "Dreamers," along with a $25 billion investment in border security -- including for President Trump's long-promised wall.
