I legit laughed at this. It would be funny if it weren't so bleeding tragically true! Again, I just don't see this. Hindu Times, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Songbird, Little by Little, Better Man and Hung in a Bad Place are far better than most of the songs on SOTSOG, DOYS and DBTT. And the B sides for this period are far better than anything else post BHN too. DOYS has to be lowest point in Oasis history. With the exception of the 3 singles, the rest of the album is utter garbage, with no decent B sides from this period either. Little by Little, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Hindu Times, and Song Bid. The rest are either mediocre or awful. Bag It Up, The Turning, Waiting for the Rapture, The Shock of the Lightning, I'm Outta Time, and Falling Down. How can you complain about any of that?

I love I'm Outta Time, and I think Falling Down and SOTL are good, solid songs. But the rest I just can't stand. I feel about them songs the way you feel about HC's songs. The first half of the album is just ok, but the second half has to be the worst set of Oasis songs in their history (with the exception of FD.)

Making a list of the songs I like after BHN (not including B sides) it has to be -
1. Fuckin in the Bushes 2. Go Let It Out 3. Sunday Morning Call 4. Little by Little 5. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 6. Hindu Times 7. Gas Panic! 8. I'm Outta Time 9. Shock of the Lightening 10. Falling Down
That would be a half decent album worthy of a follow-up after BHN. But considering this list has been compiled from 4 albums, it shows how much Noel ran out of steam after BHN.

And also how personality and/or recording issues took over in the band, with Noel tending to hold back alot of his better songs for his own vocals. He claimed his early 2000's era "going solo" statements were to wind Liam up, but I wonder in hindsight if he was serious as far back as then, but either couldn't go through with it or was talked out if it possibly by the financial side of things by Ignition or Sony Music.

I never will ubderstand the love for DOYS. The better songs of DOYS are even more worse than the worse songs from HC. And on DOYS is not one song with the Oasis feeling like Little by little, SCYHO, THT and Songbird.

HC contains She is Love which is so bad I have to listen to Slide Away instantly after it otherwise my love for Oasis would vanish; Probably All in the Mind see She is Love, Better Man ooooh ooooioh, Force of fucking Nature and A Quick Peep of nothingness. There is a collection Viva Brother would be ashamed of
Also factor in Banana Skin Feet and the very average Hindu Time and Little by Little and you're not left with much of an album. BOADC is decent, as is Songbird and SCYHO is great
DOYS 1-8 is up there with Oasis' very best it just falls off a cliff afterwards

For me it's a contest between SOTSOG and DOYS, their two most interesting albums after the 90's.
I'll go with DOYS, I feel that it flows better track 1-8 and SO is very good.

Stick that on instead of Songbird.

NOONE likes this record. Some very hardcore Oasis fans. DOYS is not that easy listening for what I love Oasis. I listened to DOYS complete once. Then I listened to some songs of it like the turning, tsotl, outta time. Without this record, my world would be the same...

Standing...
the production is outstanding is at times, Who Feels Love? Gas Panic! & Go Let It Out still sound very modern. I still notice little things in them that I didnt know wth so many subtle sounds. It is hugely let down by the bad songs on there (the less said about them the better) but its the sound i wish Oasis explored abit more. They reverted to type after this album, but without the grest songs that came before it.

I would love to say SOTSOG... but some songs people already mentionned, I never listen (except some demos and live versions). DOYS for me. don't get the hate for Ain't Got Nothing. it's in your face, it's what they used to do/BE on Definitely Maybe... Liam on top of his game, vocally. Beady Eye should have played it. the solo is mental I think for me it was it seemed like a run of very similar songs- The Meaning of Soul, Ain't Got Nothing and I Believe In All, and out of the three it's my least favourite. Also at the time as far as I am concerned Liam had a superior song in Boy With The Blues that was left of the record, and I would have preferred I Believe In All to Ain't Got Nothin' on DOYS. good post. but I don't think Meaning Of Soul and Ain't Got Nothing are as similar as people claim... except they're short songs written by Liam. love the energy it brings to the second half of the record.. which drags a bit. I agree that Boy With The Blues is a better song, but it has nothing to do with AGN at all. and I like Soldier On to close the album (/the band's career). and I Believe In All screams b-side material to me. Liam's contribution on this record is totally fine with me. I love they put out a rocker from him. he's the rock n roll icon but he seems to always write 'ballads'.. it can get a bit annoying. I love Boy With The Blues. we all do. we love Liam. but is it really that good? too much thinking, yeah. but here you go

As foe over thinking, don't worry have you seen the attempts at pseudo journalism I've typed on here? It's all good, and better than just slagging each other's opinions off

I brought Definitely Maybe the day it came out, a week before I turned 16, so I'm around your generation going on your profile. I've brought all the subsequent releases as well and always found each to have something I enjoy on it. At least they didn't completely embrace Ramonehood with identikit albums to ever diminshing returns each year, so I presume I'm in the 2% of your demography? Oh speaking of statistics did you know that 77.8% of all stats are made up, and 65% of forum posts are by hipsters?

What's that supposed to mean Presumably that all under 30 Oasis fans like everything, and the over 30s mob like me and him like only the early stuff which I have heartily disagreed with above
