In no particular order, these are some current favourites (hence list is subject to change): Violet Hill Viva la Vida Don't Panic White Shadows Rainy Day Cemeteries of London Charlie Brown Paradise Life in Technicolor ii and something from the recent stuff like Oceans, Ghost Story or Midnight, all of them are good.
Will always love Viva la Vida, what a great album.

A user on Coldplaying has posted some info on the upcoming single. While he seems to be a trustworthy user and not a troll, I'm not sure if I believe him. Isn't that right, lorddontnoelmenow? Some pretty outlandish statements in there....better than Hurts Like Heaven? Completely different from Mylo Xyloto and Ghost Stories? As good as X&Y? And the rest lorddontnoelmenow could've written.... But since he seems to be a reputable member, I guess I trust him with a grain of salt....

Will it be better then Heathen Chemistry?

Saying it's as good as X&Y is hardly much of a compliment

Saying it's as good as X&Y is hardly much of a compliment Like many, I think it's a good album. Very bloated. A bunch of songs deserved the axe. Tunes like Swallowed By The Sea, X&Y, and Twisted Logic. Even What If is cliche rock, Square One flows better into White Shadows. Speaking about White Shadows, very underrated Coldplay song much like Low.

Though it can be cut down definitely without the other tracks you mention, and yes, White Shadows is a great song.

I must be in the minority here but X&Y might be my favorite Coldplay album.

Saying it's as good as X&Y is hardly much of a compliment Like many, I think it's a good album. Admittedly I've not listened to it for a while but I always found it quite long and boring. Probably my least favourite album of theirs. There's some great songs on it but so many dull ones.

FUN FACT: The first few notes of Square One replicate the beginning of this famous piece of music. Many tunes in that album have a spacey feel to it. Moving To Mars would have fitted well on the album.

1. Yellow (I think people who don't like coldplay adore this song!) 2. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall ( say whatever you want , this is one of the best pop tunes I ever heard) 3. Clocks 4. Fix You 5. Para para paradise! (Its still overplayed in the radio here but I love this tune) 6. Viva La vida That's the only tunes I like. Some of them are obvious choice. You don't see the scientist on there because I hate that song.kbye When my baby, when my baby smiles at me I go to Rio

Like many, I think it's a good album. I still rate much of X&Y very highly. It's a solid album. I'll listen to the new album with an open mind, but Amazing Day is not an encouraging start. For me the new album will demonstrate one of two things: either that Mylo Xyloto and Ghost Stories represent a bad run of form, or that Viva La Vida is to Coldplay what season eight is to The Simpsons.

Do you not enjoy Viva La Vida? I think it's arguably Coldplay at their creative peak. I will approach the album with an open mind of course, and I do believe that good songs can be made of modern production techniques. But with Amazing Day, it's more a case of average songwriting. It's not an appalling song, it's not the worst song in the world, but it's just so unmemorable and for a band that can and has offered so much more, it's very disappointing. I think they're coasting basically.

I think they're coasting basically. I find Viva La Vida strange. Technically I can appreciate its a great album but I don't particularly enjoy it. A few songs I enjoy like Death and All His Friends, Viva La Vida and Life in Technicolour but the rest I find forgettable. For me Coldplay peaked around their first and second albums and B-sides which were really superb. I find it hard to believe that Chris Martin can now write a song like Amazing Day and think it's good or acceptable, has he really fallen that far? He must be surrounded by "yes men" as well, surely someone would pull him aside if he wasn't and say "look mate, this is poor stuff".

After some pressure from fellow Coldplay fans, the guy on Coldplaying finally said this:
Which sounds like bullshit until one of the mods posted this:
And this:
And this:
Really just a lot of vague statements but now at least we have some sort of confirmation.

I genuinely prefer this to Amazing Day: Listening to The Scientist backwards with the backwards video as well was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Funny how a song backwards can sound so interesting.

Do you not enjoy Viva La Vida? Viva La Vida is my favourite Coldplay album; my objection is to the music that has come after it, which is patchy at best. There have been a few highlights, enough to give me hope that they are still capable of delivering something special, but the signs of decline are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. I did wonder whether the Simpsons analogy was too ambiguous.
