He didn't stop playing it for no reason, so I don't think so. I think he said he stopped playing because his solos were never as good as Marr's. So... Maybe it's a nice opportunity. He messed up the lyrics, he said it had too many chords (IIRC his exact words were "It's almost like fucking jazz), he sounded insecure when performing it (Even though IMO it sounded really good) so I doubt we'll hear it soon. Acoustic would be great though. BOTMI is my favourite off CY, and I'm glad that I did have the opportunity to hear it live.

Yet, they didn't play it at the Castlefield one, hence why I don't think they'll do it at the Apollo gig…

i think it depends if this is the only new date of the year or if this is going to be a date apart of an set of dates. if in the next month a so we get an announcement of of mini tour then the set for the 'radio x tour' will be the same and if they do pull out a mini tour then could be acoustic which was rumoured Still standing by this comment? I personally just can't quite make my mind up about this at all….

With the amount of acts at that gig possibly it'll be a greatly cut down set like the scotland gig .. which could mean acoustic or just 'the hits' (tho noels site only got Radio X and Rah on the gigography so could be full gig) The RAH gig got to be a full gig i read elsewhere on here that the marketing mag said be a tv special? or something so maybe the RAH be filmed there or we'll get another few gigs that are competitions etc. Reading in the thread that HTWA may be the john lewis advert. Maybe its 'covered' by noel not a contemporary and he's rearranged ala supersonic / champagne supernova etc which would play into all this and the acoustic vibe.. ultimately who knows at the mo..

Radio X is full gig,the Hydro thing is not like i said i would think it is as is on the noel site where scotland not but until I'm there i wouldn't be surprised if its not 10 songs vs 20. Hopefully will defo be a full full set tho. I had no thoughts it wouldn't be but the tickets not mentioning noel and is the only gig being billed with more than 2 artists makes me slightly nervous

I had no thoughts it wouldn't be but the tickets not mentioning noel and is the only gig being billed with more than 2 artists makes me slightly nervous Damn, this is getting complicated! Wish they'd just bloody say what it is going to be! My thinking is that… (1)Surely Noel / his team must know that an acoustic gig would be quite special to people, well, his fans anyway (seeing as the Apollo is a comparatively small venue, I'd say it's safe to assume that the majority would be genuine fans) so why wouldn't they announce that it's going to be acoustic, especially since he's already played Manchester and hence an almost identical set twice this year? (2) Assuming they are aware that people would love an acoustic gig, would he do it for the sake of promoting a radio station? Surely artists earn more money for their 'own' gigs rather than this kind of thing? And before you say it, yes, yes, I know this kind of thing also promotes the artists that play on this 'radio tour' but seeing as it's Radio X, it's hardly reaching out to a new audience is it? So what exactly the gain is for Noel doing this thing is something I've wondered about ever since the gig was announced... (3) When he did this acoustic tour with Gem back in the day, I seem to recall (but might be wrong) that it was billed as being acoustic? I know the situation is different as such but just saying... (4) On the other hand (and if this one was true, I'll be gutted as I've decided not to throw more money in his direction as I didn't think the setlist was that great that I'd need to hear it yet again), I do think that the RAH gig is going to be different, especially if it's indeed televised and so he could 'use' the Manchester gig as a 'warm-up' / to try things out?

Im not some hardcore saying i think it'll defo happen. I guess as devils advocate these gigs just billed as nothing really so only the real fans would bought tickets again this year, so be a nice acoustic reward for them seeing him yet again this year. The radio station thing again is 'their' gig i guess so they could easily paid him £££ for appearing. Guess as they are footing bills be more profit in it for him, but they get the radio broadcast for those songs and thus great advertising for a 'new' radio station. The underlying thing is this isn't a 'tour' it defo a marketing offensive where 10k? people will see him? so not about the profit from the gigs or even the buy through from merch or albums but as YT (peoples vids) / his YT/Vevo already got this album covered with live version of CY getting an influx of different acoustics version could be a great piece of advertising just before xmas.

BUT this 'tour' is a slight anomially for Noel so at the least created some 'what if's' which is cool I'm excited to see what happens.

Awwww, I think you're exaggerating! :-) Anyway, yeh, I'd probably just be somewhat excited about the 'buzz' if I already had tickets too ;-) But, when he didn't play BOTMI in Summer DESPITE Johnny Marr bloody being there… nah, that was it for me… But that .1% chance… and who knows the next time we're going to see him live… and I'm only like 4 miles down the road... DAMN… ;-)

I think the biggest disappointment was nothing special at RAH, obv gig was special but same old setlist again You 4 Miles down the road from where?

I think after the Sheperd's gig his tour finished. So maybe with an acoustic gig he will play it again

Guys, I like your enthusiasm, but let's be realistic: the RAH gig won't be drastically different. Remember that it's advertised as a HFB gig.
It seems to me that this is just an opportunity to have a televised gig from a beautiful venue right before Christmas. This could gain Noel some exposure.
I think he'll change a couple of tunes in the setlist, to give some different to the fans who are seeing him for the second time at the RAH this year, and/or to try out some other songs in a live situation before the second leg of the tour.

If nothing else im certain we'll get TGWXRE. Remember the new single comes out the next day and its the bside. I have a feeling the bside will probably be an acoustic demo much like TDOTL so maybe we'll get a little acoustic set in the middle somewhere as Noel has really done very little in terms of acoustic performances for Chasing Yesterday, and as we know he obviously enjoys acoustic performances, so why not treat us all just before Christmas? A couple of different oasis tunes would be great too. If I could have two they'd be Listen Up and Slide Away.
