Chocolate st*rfish..wasn't that a member on here? Most of that list is so far fetched and doesn't even bare any similarity to the songs in question! Really? Spreading beyond the bounds of Live4ever to cause trouble then. I particularly like his rant at the end: "As a huge oasis fan i have to say i'm very dissapointed how unoriginal they are. i know everyone takes inspiration and ideas from certain songs BUT GOD DAMN THIS IS OBSURD. Nearly every song on every album takes something from someone else!" live4ever.proboards.com/user/397 He/she was a mod. That's the post the poster of that forum is quoting, I'm not sure if "keenly" is actually chocolate st*rfish, doesn't seem that way to me.

I read over a few important bits. Of course they are not the same!
CS says "Stealography (note: some of the hints are more than vague!)"
Keenly: "i FOUND THIS THEN CHECKED EVERY SONG! I downloaded all the songs, put them on windows media player and compared the original to oasis." So that person is definitely not a member on here. Also, that list seems compiled out of comments by members perhaps.

Anyway, let's bring the thread back on track. Freaky Teeth - Be Forewarned (Macabre/Pentagram) Lock All The Doors - Rock On (David Essex) Just Let It Come Down Over Me - Bright Eyes ("a song about a rabbit, written by a Batt" ) Teotihuacan - Purple Haze (Hendrix) The Shock of the Lightning has a distinct Neu! influence, plus the major/minor ambiguity could have been influenced by The Beatles (I'll Be Back). Those Swollen Hand Blues takes its title from Nobody Home by Pink Floyd.

Go Let It Out samples Johnny Jenkins' cover of Walk On Guilded Splinters (the drums). If we're doing samples then D'You Know What I Mean samples NWA Straight Outta Compton and Fuckin In The Bushes copies the drums from Hendrix's Little Miss Lover. To be honest, I've never heard the Amen break on DYKWIM. Maybe it was used for a demo version or I'm just deaf. I mentioned the second one, though

It's from the theme tune of a show, You and Me. Watch from 9.30: The song I was thinking of was Wonderboy and I meant the "I'll be you and you'll be me" bit. Skip to 1 minute and see what you think... I always think of She's Electric when I hear this song. True that. With so many "quotations" thrown into a song as silly as She's Electric, Noel comes off more as an example of postmodernism in rock than a plagiarist (On the other hand, C&A and Step Out are just pure plagiarism).

This basically makes She's Electric Married With Children + With a Little Help from My Friends + While My Guitar Gently Weeps + Wonderboy. I remember instantly recognizing those similarities the first time I heard the song. Still love it though.

Hey You (aka No Cause For Alarm!) - Hey You by Pink Floyd. I must say, i have never heard this song. So im searching on youtube and i found this video And that first song, What's It Got To Do With You, sounds like Blondie - Maria. So i am thinking, oh Noel, you did it again but then i realised that actually Maria is younger song and it is released in 1999. Maybe Noel can get some money out of it.

I really liked Spaceman as a child. Didn't know it was THAT succesful really. The fastest-selling single in the UK since The Beatles' "Can't Buy Me Love". Spaceman, Mr Boombastic, Flatbeat... my god Levis are responsible for some shit charting!

Spaceman, Mr Boombastic, Flatbeat... my god Levis are responsible for some shit charting! It reached #4 in the Netherlands, and something like Don't Look Back In Anger only got to #38 or something. What a shit taste this country has!
