Hi guys,
Was just wondering if anyone knew why this has been dropped from Noel's set list recently? Was at Clapham Common last night and it was absolutely epic. Just missed Ballad of the Mighty I.

He had trouble singing and playing it, mixing up the words, saying it was "almost like fucking jazz", that he was "glad if he didn't have to play it again".
It's a shame, I think it sounded good live. Not the best, but good enough. At least I had the pleasure of hearing it live.

We live in a fucked up world people. He drops Mighty I but had Dave Sardy hang around for over a decade.

Would Dave Sardy have improved Heathen Chemistry, had he produced it? I seriously doubt it. The biggest problem was lack of songs. That's really on Noel. Sure the singles are kick ass but the filler, my god the filler tracks suck. How did The Roller not surface during this album? If it sounded anything like the version on DGSS I consider it a crime against Oasis humanity. A song like that was tailor made for Heathen Chemistry.

If he can't hit the notes anymore, he can't hit them. It's better he just sing another song than strain his voice anymore at this point in his career. Good decision I think.

His voice sounds best when he's doing acoustic versions, but these new yins are all pretty heavy rocks songs and he's having to shout rather than sing soulfully. Ballad Of The Mighty I is great but it goes high and loud as fudge.
D'you Noel what I mean?

Don't think it was very good live tbh...one of the weakest tracks....but he should have replaced it with something different as a bit of a treat

Wasn't good live.
Didn't hit the notes consistently. The string arrangement in the studio was badly missed. The arse fell out of it during the solo The dynamics were all wrong. I don't know why Noel was playing guitar from the very start of the song. Took the impact away from certain parts of the song.

Thought it was great when he played it in Dublin in March.

There's a lot of subtle stuff going on in the album version which the live version missed. That and Johnny Marr.

If you're listening with bad headphones/speakers you will definitely miss the subtleties.

We all should know by now the production was not the major reason Heathen Chemistry is terrible.
