Federer-Nadal Williams-Williams Fuckin hell, what year is this? I see now that Federer and Nadal played in AO final in 2009 and Serena played against Venus in AO final in 2003, 14 years ago. Experience always wins the day . It's incredible to think that Ana Ivanović for example was not professional player when they played that final in 2003, she was still young girl, just watching them on television probably dreaming to be like them one day. And now, she is a retired tennis player and Williams sisters are again in the final. True champions, both of them.

Beautiful player and beautiful girl. Very offensive player on the court aswell, especially with her forehand. Kind of a more complete Sharapova, but with less power.

But Djoković is now without doubt hair G.O.A.T. Disappointed performance by Nadal and Federer in that category.

Superbly played. I'm gutted for Rafa but Roger was undoubtedly the better player and a deserved winner.

I honestly don't know if I've ever been this happy. Five years of bel18ving, and here it is.
The Greatest of All Time.

The perfect way to win. To do it against his old arch rival and fellow great though makes it even more special. Considering the current circumstances and history of both players (I didn't think we'd see this final ever again) it's got to be one of the most memorable tennis matches of all time.

Roger Federer wins Indian Wells, beating Stan Wawrinka 6-4 7-5 in the final! Having previously demolished Nadal in the Fourth Round, he won the tournament having only dropped serve once and hitting his backhand on average harder than ever before...
Miami next!

Amazing tournament from Roger. What a start for 2017. Like the The Escapist said, his backhand was on fire this week. Here's the top 10 at the ATP race after Indian Wells and three months of tournaments: 1. Federer 3045 pts 2. Nadal 1635 pts 3. Wawrinka 1410 pts 4. Dimitrov 1355 pts 5. Tsonga 1255 pts 6. Thiem 1130 pts 7. Carreño Busta 975 pts 8. Goffin 965 pts 9. Sock 950 pts 10.Murray 840 pts No Djokovic, Murray and Tsonga for Miami, all of them are withdrawals.

Miami will be an interesting one - it's such a slow hard court that it's tempting to make Rafa favourite considering he feels healthy...but honestly, it feels right now that Roger is once again the man to beat. If Kyrgios plays, I'd also expect him to have a strong shot too... But let's go for YE#1 Rog! Bel19ve!

Roger is the favourite, but I'd say they are some outsiders just behind the door. And some big questions: Is Berdych gonna wake up ? Is Monfils gonna be into a game more than 30 consecutive minutes ? Is Del Potro going strong again ? Anyway, let's go Roger ! ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

Got a funny feeling Kyrgios is gonna win this one, which I think would be a great result for tennis. Zverev won't be easy in the form he's in, and obviously the prospect of the best player ever in the semi's followed by a certain Mallorcan hurricane is no cakewalk, but I have a feeling that now is the time for the next gen to make their move. When the Maestro retires, I think I'll support this flamboyant Aussie ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/1258801/images/7QKGdm487eYnX65W8w0g.gif) .

The tournament winner hinders on the semi final on that side of the draw for me. Kyrgios is extremely talented and he's dealt with Djokstrap quite efficiently recently. At the moment, his form blows hot and cold so even though his talent could walk him past any of the obstacles ahead, he may have a bad day and lose to anyone. Zverev is another great player and I imagine they will be the top players in the years to come. Federer's form has been outstanding though - much to the detriment of Nadal. I'm hoping Nadal can get his mental toughness back so he gets back to lifting trophies too!

Don't get me wrong, he is a really talented but I don't think he has the right attitude on the court to be in the top 5 soon. He lacks maybe a bit of consistency. That said, he played really well against Goffin and he seems to be on good form that week. He is a BIG outsider for the win in Miami. That game against Zverev is going to be very interesting. The latter is the most promising player of his generation imo. I also think Tiafoe will be a top player in the future years, have you seen his game against Roger ?

Tiafoe definitely had flashes of brilliance against Roger - if he had combined that with some consistency and experience, he could have made it a lot closer or even won. To be honest, I think Rog is looking a little shaky in Miami. Low first serve percentage (2013 flashbax) and not so clinical at the net. I think he might be tired after committing to the sunshine double, or he just hasn't dialled in mentally yet - I definitely hope he skips Monte Carlo and gets some rest.

Yes, his average of first serve is quite low in Miami. He's around 54%, while it was about 58% in Indian Wells and his average for the year is around 63%. I think he's a bit tired but the confidence he has won these last weeks could give him enough strength to take the crown in Florida. He announced he will skip Monte Carlo anyway so he will not play before Madrid.

The good thing is he's been using his second serve really well recently - that kick serve he used repeatedly against Stan at Indian Wells had Wawrinka about ten find behind the baseline! Whether that'll be good enough against the likes of Berdych, Krygios, and Nadal remains to be seen. He hasn't actually said anything about Monte Carlo yet - his name isn't on the entrance list because he said he was going to decide his clay court season after Miami. However, given that he's had a decent run here already, I think it's fairly safe to say he'll leave it.

Federer's played well again and seems to have finally worked out how to beat Rafa. I think Nadal needed this win more and wonder what the clay season will bring.
