Goddamnit.
What's he going to do? Throw all singles out? Won't be long until he notices that Riverman DOES sound shit live and then we will have a setlist full of Dream Ons and She Is Loves.
ITHOTM is fucking awesome live. Taking that out will be a big mistake.

Oh and yes I am a Noel fanboy. Hell, I'd even be Noel's groupie if we could leave aside the sexual elements to that. #notashamed #proud

Give your ticket to your girlfriend and tell her that she can take anyone else who would love to see Noel Gallagher. This is what I would suggest too. You might spoil your girlfriend's experience with your unexcitement and that'd be unfair towards her. I'm no Romeo and you're not proving to be my Juliet, but isn't the point to do things for one another, and further shouldn't he be excited for her excitement, whilst sharing a mutual interest in Noel and Oasis? It's hardly going to see a fucking Opera or something that would actually warrant the reason for your dread. I really don't get this entire thread.

I was at the gig. It was my first Gallagher related gig, and it was as absolutely amazing as I thought it would be.

So was it a good show or not It must have been. If it wasn't a good show then he would've been straight on here complaining about it.

Posted my full review over in the tour area. It was a fucking great show. My date...embraced the absolute MANCUNIAN pissdown that occurred on those hearty of us lined up. Great atmosphere though, as it was brick wall, alley line...felt very 90's.
In line by 5:10. Snagged perfect front row balcony box, ala Linc at the Linc. Avoided the antiquated row/chairs fixture with the balc box. Rescinded 10th row aisle center floor seats, with said trooper date agreeing to split at doors dash.
Super perplexed more folks weren't geeking out about the clearly audible sound check through certain. It's like, two gigs in one.
Anyway...gig was great. The whole balc looked packed as shit, which was good for the showing. It was a roaring crowd I thought. Broken Arrow seems to be a flat note w/ da crowd. I miss Supersonic.
All in all...an 11/10!!! Wish I'd seen more shows on tour (cos he won't be back I don't think this cycle). Noel represents the last active connection to Oasis now. Seeing him is like a mystical time machine to when a 13 yo self found inspiration in his tunes.

I think it sold out in a week or 2 so I hope the balcony was full I couldn't see it from where I was sitting, I mean standing. My girlfriend had the audacity to wear a Radiohead shirt. I know Noel was good because she was dancing and singing every song. It will be another 3 or 4 years before Noel comes around again and he will be 51 or 52 I hate seeing my hero's getting older. Oh and did anyone go next door to get some food and drinks? I was scanning the place but couldn't see any obvious fans. I was going to buy you guys a drink.

Not surprised BOTMI has been dropped. Really tough on his voice to be singing that every night.

An elaboration on my previous post... My dad and I came up from Virginia to see the show. We took the metro to the theatre (after a serious of metro related incidents due to our relative inexperience with them coming from a rural area...) and as we were ascending the escalator from the metro I realized my dad hadn't mentioned having the tickets to the show. I asked if he had brought them and his eyes got as big as saucers and he said no. Luckily the lady working the box office just asked for his ID and card that he had bought the tickets with, and we were still able to get in. What surprised me most at this point was the line to get in the theatre stretching around the side and back out onto the street behind the theatre. We thought that because of the pouring rain (which we stood in without ponchos or an umbrella, mind you!) that people might be a little hesitant to get out there super early. We were wrong! We were still able to get decent seats maybe 7 or 8 rows back in the floor. After my experiences with Noel Gallagher and Oasis in general being youtube videos/bootlegs of them playing large stadiums, it was very surreal even being that close!
Every song rocked. There was not a single one that fell flat. Even the songs which members on here tend to complain about being in the set list were amazing upon seeing them in person. The Mexican is a song that I skip every time it comes on shuffle on my phone but ROCKS LIVE!!!! Digsy's Dinner especially surprised me, and it surprised me further to hear so many people singing along to all of the songs (I always heard US crowds were dead!). Not just Champagne Supernova and Don't Look Back in Anger, but all of Noel's solo songs and new songs as well! Riverman was another song which I don't get the hate for live...it was amazing.
Noel wasn't very chatty with the audience, a few "thank yous" here and there and some slight banter with select audience members. My first Gallagher-related concert was definitely an amazing experience through and through. Worth being soaked the whole time!

Went to this gig and really enjoyed it! It was my first time seeing Noel, and he and his band did not disappoint. Things that stood out to me about the performance included how tight the band sounds live, the fullness of the sound in most of the songs (really a nice blend in the mix of all the instruments, including when the brass section played), and how great Noel's voice sounds live.
Just as misterjones said above, I was pleasantly surprised by the crowd. The knock on typical US crowds is that they're mostly lifeless, but the whole gig was a full-throated singalong of every word of every song with lots of dancing. That's also a testament to Noel's songwriting -- you won't go to many concerts where a crowd is singing along to every song, but Noel's been writing classics from the early 90s through today that grow that easily on people.
The setlist had a pretty nice flow to it. Very upbeat, and of course the Oasis songs were greeted with plenty of gusto and gave everyone that sense of nostalgia.
I'd also definitely go back to that venue. Extremely easy to access with the metro station being directly across the street, the smaller size meant that there really wasn't a bad seat in the house, the acoustics led to a nice overall blend of the sound, and there were lots of options around for food and drink. Very nice neighborhood, as well.
It's not often that you'd say that a musician who just turned 48 is in the prime of his career, but I think Noel is. As a live act, the execution, professionalism, performance, and ability are all clicking for him more than ever before, in my opinion. Very fun to see that all come together with my own eyes!

I was pretty impressed with every song, I thought Noel delivered each one quite well. Champagne Supernova live is something else, though.

He must think he isn't nailing it? I haven't seen much gig footage of him doing it so I don't know what the vibe is with it? Maybe someone whos seen him do it can enlighten us? All I remember is Graham Norton where it wasn't an amazing rendition. I was at the shows in San Diego and LA. After playing TBOTMI in SD he asked someone in the front row to erase the recording they made of that song because he hates it. He said without Johnny it just doesn't work. Then in LA he alluded to a song he hates playing later in the set list and that he couldn't wait until the end of the tour so that he never has to play it again - which was TBOTMI. He also mentioned in LA that he doesn't like ITHOTM. Noel finally came to his sense and realized those songs suck hard. Those two songs were clearly forced by the management ala Lyla. Noel clearly never liked them. From the first day he talked about them. Though he liked the "guitar solo" from johnny. generic melodies, terrible production. Good riddance.

Nah he does not. He is "okay" with it, but that's it. He had to have a single, that was it.
It's no surprise that he's dropped them as soon as the firs two singles cycle was over for the record.
Plus those tunes weren't well received at gig (like many new tunes). People were kinda bored when he played them.
