You don't have to worry about the mansion tax because the 'communist' never got into power. Your millions are safe for at least another five years.

A similar party is the biggest here in the Netherlands. I have no idea why people vote for them. They don't care about anyone except the rich. Everyone is complaining.
I'm not sure it would have really made a difference if a more left wing party had won here. My parents always say "It doesn't make a difference whether you get bitten by the dog or by the cat"

I've already said it in a couple of other threads but I'm truly staggered that the Tories have a majority.

Political rabies.

Here it really doesn't matter since there will always be a coalition anyway. And right now it consists out of a right wing party and a somewhat left wing party, but the right wing one is bigger so gets to make most of the major decisions anyway.
I always vote for the party that has the best ideals, but I know they would never be able to make them happen anyway. You vote for a party because they promise something, but when they get there they will just do the opposite.
I also think not enough people vote. It's your fucking right to vote, use it. Vote for something you want instead of complaining beforehand.
Whatever, might as well vote for the Pirates Party next time.

My parents always say "It doesn't make a difference whether you get bitten by the dog or by the cat" Not everyone is complaining, that's nonsense. I voted for them eventhough I was a student at the time for the simple reason that I'm liberal, fiscal conservative and they had the best plan to fight the crisis and reform the country. Stop generalizing politics based on your own opinion or social circle.

To think, the revenue this country could make if it taxed the rich properly...Why take an extra £11 a week off some poor sod who's disabled and in need of a spare room to store all their aids, when you could make thousands of pounds just by raiding the four tossers on the Tories' front row?! Trickle down doesn't work you greedy, corrupt, elitist bastards.

Alright "everyone I know who isn't rich or who doesn't have a mommy or a daddy paying for everything" is complaining.
I think education is the worst thing to save on if your country is in a crisis. But that's my opinion. That and the Health Care and general care really, especially for elderly people and disabled people. I work in the social field so I know what I'm talking about. Save on other things, like the politics' wages.

Because the Tories were the party that attracted the centrist vote. That's where elections are always won. Miliband and Balls had no economic credibility. I'm not sure what this has to do with Noel though!

Lets face it, they're both as bad as each other. Labour campaign left, and govern central-right, at least the Tories don't hide it.

At least Scotland is socialist. Totally different political country to England. The UK is finished I have to say.

Just wondering if everyone here is a socialist or communist? Sure seems that way. My girlfriend is the only Socialist I know and she hates other points of view.

Not totally socialist but for a fair society where the poor and vulnerable are cared for and there's a fully funded National Health Service. Where the rich shoulder more for a fairer and more caring society. Is that socialism?

It's a good idea but private insurance here you actually get better/faster care then if you get it through your state. I've had both and that is my take on it. I respect everyone's views though and I understand where they are coming from

However, for people who simply cannot afford private health insurance, the NHS is a fantastic setup, in that it treats EVERYBODY.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of someone else's money

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of someone else's money Problem with Capitalism is you have thousands of poor, vulnerable people dying and starving whilst ultra rich bankers give themselves millions of $ in bonuses and cause world recessions.
