If Oasis got back together, the last thing I'd want would be Andy and Gem to write songs again. Seriously, imagine telling Noel back in 96 that in ten years there would be new people in his band writing material for the albums. It's crazy. That's no different than someone like me writing two songs on the 3rd High Flying Birds album Although I think Liam ,being in it from the start, writing the odd tune, is only part of the natural process.

They can bring Andy and Gem for the band again, but just don't let them write songs for albums, they can write songs only for b-sides.
Liam can write 2 or 3 for the album, he can write a good tune.

Noel will write the full album...a few mistakes of the past has no place on the band now

Noel will write the full album...a few mistakes of the past has no place on the band now It was Noel's choice after all to put certain "lesser popular" LAG songs on the album. I don't think it had to do with the songwriting quality. "Boy with the Blues", "The Roller", "Come On Outside",... all those songs, they all were around. They wouldn't have just fitted Noel's and the Band's conception of the records at the time. Also, i think, if you close your eyes, you wouldn't think SOTSOG is a 90 percent "Noel written" record too. Oasis actualy became more like a band at that time. It wasn't all bad.

If we're talking about why the best songs are sometimes left off the album, I really do feel that Noel & Co try to pick a variety of sounds for the "album" concept. If we took the 10 best songs from the SOTSOG era and made THAT the album, it'd be 90% slow-mid tempo, dreary ballads. Let's All Make Believe and Cigarettes in Hell are much better than Put Yer Money Where Your Mouth Is, but they probably felt the album needed some up-tempo songs. It's a shame that this kind of thing matters, but there are lots of casual Oasis fans that would have probably been upset if the album didn't "rock."

And every newspaper comes up with a new bit that wasn't in the original story. "The Blur reunion made them decide it"

Cool, really hope this is true, I'm dying to pay £60 to watch Liam croak his way through the same set list for the 794734982734982749824 time.
