Couldn't have put it better myself mate. It's surprising though that the Guardian are running with this... usually it's just the tabloids spewing rubbish about supposed reunions

within the next week this will happen in some radio interview or something:
interviewer: I just want to ask you about an oasis reunion because apparently you are planning one with you brother liam?
Noel: well you are already ruining my day.....
interviewer: haha so is it not true?
Noel: No me and Liam havnt spoken let alone meet to discuss oasis in last X amount of months, I dont know who said that but they are talking out their arse.
....then will come "NOEL SHOOTS DOWN HOPES OF OASIS REUNION!!!!" articles across the net, then the week after we will start the cycle again.

The songs and vocals at this point are better with just Noel. I loved oasis obviously but we're getting better and more music with HFB. Maybe Noel will just start calling himself Oasis hah no need for his brother. It would be better if Liam just sat at home collecting royalties. Noel doesnt need Liams vocals but there sno denying from me that some songs would of benefited from them. I dont see how we are getting more music with HFB, we did when beady eye were still around as there were 2 sets of songs being released, it will now be the same as the oasis days if noel keeps going eg likely roughly every 2 / 3 years. If Noel would have quit we would have nothing. Think about that. |

Think about that. he said we are getting more music as opposed to say oasis, hows that? he doesnt put more songs on his albums, I was merely stating that isnt the case, Im not complaining that we have to wait years for music. I like both beady eye and NGFB because we still got music, couldnt care how long it took for them to do anything. |

I have to disagree on both points made here. 10 songs on each album aren't exactly more. And also, Noel still hasn't released a song that has a "drum solo" like the one in SOTL on it  And even on the songs he sings on, I still think 'The Importance of Being Idle' isn't exactly much worse. If Oasis got back together, the last thing I'd want would be Andy and Gem to write songs again. Seriously, imagine telling Noel back in 96 that in ten years there would be new people in his band writing material for the albums. It's crazy. That's no different than someone like me writing two songs on the 3rd High Flying Birds album

We are getting WAY more noel songs. Not more songs in general, sorry I wasn't clear. No offense to LAG but all noel songs is much better than 5 noel songs an album plus 5 LAG songs |

Apparently Liam and Noel have reached an agreement and will reform the band!
It's a bit early but Let's speculate:
-What will the line-up be?
-Will we get a new album?
-Can Liam still sing?!

If by some chance this rumor becomes true, I hope to god they return to proper form in the sense that Noel is 100% in charge of the band. The second half of the Oasis story is one of a man who seemed to have given up on his need to make perfect albums. There's no way he thought the other songwriting contributions were as good as his, I think he was just thinking "fuck it." People praise Don't Believe the Truth. I never understood that. Noel's songs are really great, but the other guys didn't do any better than usual. |
