TBH it's likely to be true. Noel is away doing gigs god knows where so it's a good time to spread the rumor.
Has his album been that much of a success by the way ?
He can easily make the two work : reunion shows next year, only a few festival here and there like Hyde park, see if this goes well, then either a new Oasis record or a another solo one.

Am I getting my hopes up? No, not really. I take reunion rumours with a grain of salt. I won't believe it until there is a formal announcement by the band.

One thing for sure, if it does happen, matt's post back on spaneli's farewell thread makes echoes.

I'm surprised at the extent of this rumour. Noel will stamp it out soon...unfortunately.

I highly doubt Noel though would confirm anything even it was true, it would take the spotlight off his current stuff in a big way, everyone would suddenly have a lack of interest in the album and tour and there would be no point in that as it wouldn't happen for another year or so, the only reason I think this one picked up pace is because of this so called "source"

The NME are in frenzy. An Oasis post every hour instead of the normal daily rate.

We all know it's gonna happen next year. Noel wont pass the opportunity to make big money on the 20th anniversary of the "britpop year".
C'mon, you know he's a fine businessman. He just cant pass.

Yeah I still stand by that, the cynic in me says a reunion is a bad idea. But I hope I'm proved wrong, I really really do.

I wish the writers for the NME would come to a 'gentlemen's agreement' to do some research on the stories they attempt to write.

WAIT A FREAKING MINUTE EVERYONE. Didn't all this "reunion hype" happen around the same time last year with Liam on twitter, and it turned out to be bs? Yeah... I'm not falling for it this time

Nah,he's just coming from a sold out UK tour,he's headlining a few festivals including T In The Park, his album peaked at number one and is still in the top 20 Anyway I obviously can't see it coming now,but I'm not sure it'll ever happen...I mean two of Noel's closest friends are Marr and Weller,so I wouldn't be too surprised if he took them as an example, plus his solo career has probably been more successful than he expected, and he seems to be really happy on a personal level at this stage of his life, but then there's money, and the fact that he could play stadiums and big venues once again...I don't know, only time will tell I suppose

Find it so bizarre when people retweet the news and be all like OMG PLEASE BE TRUE as though they broke up 20 years ago or something. Mental.

It's important that maybe they close the chapter on a good note, with a successful record (and tour). It's an exciting challenge, and now that his solo career is succeeding, bringing back Oasis where it belongs, for a man like Noel, that's gotta be tempting.

FFS. Don't Look Back In Anger was just played on the radio and the DJ said they were going to work together again. He said their conclusion was that "after all they were still family".
I hate how the media are talking about this as if it's confirmed and all set.
I'm also starting to think it doesn't matter what Liam or Noel says. People will think it will happen. Noel has explained multiple times how the backstage pass wasn't Liam's, yet all media still state that "recently Liam was seen at a HFB concert with a backstage pass". It doesn't matter what they say, the media will write what they want people to believe.

FFS.
This is all coming from an anonymous source... Noel himself said 20 times in the last year that he is not interested and he gives a fuck about what the world expects.
