chasing yesterday is fantastic, I think its got bags of energy and really enjoyable to listen through but live? ahhhh not so much, Noels really not doing anything for me this time around, his vocals seem lazy and uninspiring, hes not bothering to hold notes in quite a few places, I dont know whether hes just struggling to hit the notes (do the damage seems to be a real struggle) in these newer songs or hes just not trying hard enough.
the bass player isnt doing a very good job on backing vocals, you know you cant go back and dying of the light are a real grind with him shouting along behind Noel when its not needed and the general instrumentals dont sound as professional and tight as last time (though the mexican and in the heat of the moment are damn cool), I just dont have much of a desire to listen to the live gigs much this time around.
Im not being a troll, its just my opinion so far, the magic of Noel seems to be missing so far, Im not getting the wow factor which is strange because the songs are so good.
thoughts?

I kinda get what you mean to be honest. I didn't think he was too great at the O2 last month.
I'd say the album is a very solid 8 maybe 9/10 but the live experience for me at least was probably a 6 or 7 at best.
That version or Champagne supernova was absoultely brilliant though

My personal live experience was fantastic.
The only new song that sounded flat was Riverman but I didn't notice the bass player's backing vocals being poor. Noel seemed to be right up for it and so was the crowd.
Like you said, The Mexican and In The Heat Of The Moment were great and sounded much better than on the album.

I think it sounds great. The songs that I didn't like that much were some of the highlights of the show (The Mexican and In The Heat Of The Moment). I enjoyed all of the songs. Do The Damage was awesome, Stranded On The Wrong Beach was awesome, hearing The Masterplan..everything. The only song that didn't go down well was Riverman, strangely enough. At the gig I went to, Noel sounded great, and he was into it. It was fun to watch and fun to listen to. I must say that at some gigs he didn't sound that great, like in Paris, and in Dusseldorf you could clearly see he wasn't into it. One has to bear in mind that Noel was ill during a few gigs though.
My only complaints are Russell's backing vocals on Dying Of The Light (too high, woohoo's at the end are annoying), Tim's guitarsolo's sometimes (DLBIA acoustic, Champagne Supernova. He did nail the Riverman solo though, that must be said.) and the brass section not being loud enough.

Watching something on Youtube is actually different from being there too, tbh.

Most of the new songs aren't made for Arena, that's why they sound a bit bland, and tbh, they do. Those venues require rocking numbers.
The Mexican, Do the Damage and Lock all the Doors sound great live, the rest was / is kinda boring, although i like them on the record.

I don't know, I actually think this tour has been better than the last?! My live experience was incredible, I understand people saying Riverman sounds flat but I just love it so I couldn't give a damn about it The Mexican and ITHOTM are fantastic and BOTMI, YKWCGB and LATD aren't far behind Do The Damage is weird, I wasn't impressed watching performances on youtube, but I was blown away when I was at the gig, it's a great opener TDOTL is the only one that live doesn't really do it for me The HFB1 songs all sound great, I was surprised by how "anthemic" SOTWB has become EOTR and WAL are unbelievable, IIHAG always gets a great reaction from the crowd, Dream On is good fun, even though I don't really rate it TDOYAM yeah he struggles singing that one at times The Oasis songs...well...

It all comes down to personal taste at the end tho You're saying they don't sound as tight and professional as on the laat tour, and that's true, but that's actually what is making this tour so enjoyable for me Anyway I saw him and he was fantastic, so whatever

I'd broken the seal during my gig in Glasgow so needed to piss about 6 times during the gig. During these piss breaks you could feel the arena shaking and bouncing and hear the singing and it sounded amazing, however during The Riverman it was flat. He also sounded a little bit crap during Do The Damage. Other than that, it was probably my favourite gig I've been to. He was on top form

Totally agree. I've listened to Paris and Dusseldorf bootlegs' a lot on the last days, and there is some boring details. The mainly fact that annoys me is the backing vocals from Russell. He's not doing a good job, mainly on Lock All the Doors, You Know You Can't Go Back and The Dying of the Light. His voice is too loud and he's look careless, isn't soft as the album. Maybe Tim should do this job, he's doing well on Ballad of the Mighty I.
Another fact that annoys me is the extreme security from Noel. I understand why The Right Stuff isn't on the set, but looks like he's not playing The Girl with X-Ray Eyes and While the Song Remains the Same for being too lazy.
If Noel took off his comfort zone on the album, live he continues being the same.

In all fairness, those two were bad gigs. The worst of this tour so far. Noel was sick, the audience was crap..

He's not playing them live cause they tried and they don't sound good Guys,I don't wanna sound too pretentious, but from my personal experience, and I think lots of people on here would agree,if you're judging by those two shows you're missing something Then as I said I thought my live experience was incredible, and it would be good if as many people as possible coould enjoy it as much as I did,but I understand that's not how it works,so what matters is that I had a great time

Going to concerts are always gonna be a personal expierence ...... Oasis And especially NOEL LIVE will never crack my top 20 best ever concerts
To me especially OASIS was more about the event , KNEBWORTH and WEMBLEY are my two best concert events ever ...but as for the musical showman aspect , there very stiff ( by that I mean they don't move a lot , very little stage improvation )
Grant it i come from a different time when going to concerts meant not only was it a event but the acts also gave you a show , Be diamond DAVE with his martial arts , eddie with his finger tapping , bruce with his epic stage shows
Noel is not cut from that cloth ,so if that style is for you then. No doubt you will eat it up , like my @waitingforsally. But I can see where gleam is coming from , THERE was a old saying in the 80 s about attending" THE CARS "CONCERTS It was " why bother just play the LP and stare at your posters" Because onstage there very inaminate
Sorta how I felt seeing noel solo and with oasis ....Ii went for the event and had great fun. But the actual show ?? For me it was like listening to the lp ........ Not a critisism. Just live not earth shattering , and that's cool A lot of people love that style , Jjust not me and a lot from my era

I get what you're saying kalasI doesn't feel like that for me though, the whole experience is just something else Maybe it does sound like the record, well it doesn't but it's not that different either, but standing there singing my heart out to The Masterplan with thousends of people who love Noel as much as I do,closing the gig with "we're all part of the masterplan",it felt like kind of a religious experience, and no live act,not even the best in the world, will ever top that for me It's like watching your football team, they could play like shit, but I'd rather go and watch them at the stadium than go to the Camp Nou or to the Allianz Arena

Like I said its a personal expierence ( concert going ) ....I wouldn't trade my oasis live expierence for anything , but gig wise to me they are.....well average , they barely play 2 hours , they sorta punch there work clock Felt that way seeing noel to but that's me , I am more into higher energy shows , thst Doesent mean anything tho it's my preference , as seeing noel and singing along is yours. . I have sung along to masterplan many times ....... Live it is great , but was no world beater of a preformance To me ....im glad you enjoyed THATS what makes concert going so personal and fun

I was watching the Dusseldorf gig and that felt like Noel doing work to me. It looked as if he wanted to get out there as fast as possible. I didn't have that feeling when I went to see him. It looked and sounded as if he was really enjoying himself, and everyone else enjoyed it too. No he doesn't dance or jump around, but he doesn't have to. A bit of banter, the songs sounding good, some visuals and a good crowd are good enough for me. That made the Utrecht gig one of the best gigs I've ever been to (but because of the pushing not the most enjoyable).
How amazing is it to sing something like DLBIA with thousands of others?

I remember the guy ahead of me kept looking back and cracking a smile every song because I was singing word for word.
Definitely an amazing experience to be with a bunch of other people singing the same songs.

I really dont know why though Noel and Liam and for that matter always have to be so safe in regard to their choices of oasis songs, beady eye was worse because all those guys played a lot of oasis songs so they didnt need to do much practice to knock out another song besides the usual suspects.
fair enough noel might want to play songs that everyone can singalong to but you would think that Noels been doing this for so long now that he might think what the heck heres rockin chair, I was excited for that fake setlist that had dyou know what I mean, I thought hes really pulling it out here, champagne supernova could be considered abit out there for noel but its not really.
playing it safe has always been will likely to continue to be my biggest frustration with the gallaghers, its a big factor as to why oasis got stale, throwing curve balls keeps it fresh, must get abit boring playing the same thing night in night out for years.
the only 2 times after about 2003 that I thought wow hey now whats this! was headshinker 05 (havnt heard it though) and my big mouth, otherwise pretty standard, shake it up!

As religous a expierence or amazing as singing DLBIA might be ........if you have seen them on the tour multiple times it loses the spark of spontaneity Knowing exactly in the gig when it will pop up that's what in wan by they approach the road as punching a clock , it's like if it's tne 18 the tune it must be DLBIA ( you get my point ) There is zero spontainety in most of there shows which is why I don't get choked up hearing the MASTERPLAN or Dlbia live , in years past ive seen them at least 5 times a tour and. The setlist and the order never changed , I actually knew when the anthems were coming , and I find that boring , if your seein g to multiple times but that's noel , he is very calculating live , it seems everything has to be done by the numbers ...again some may love thst , and im glad , but to me , live wise , it's to stiff

"right new tour shall we play the turning Liam?" "that means learning the lyrics dont it?" "yea we will need to do some soundchecks and get the mix right, probably take out a song in its place, could be abit of work" *both look at eachother" "nahhhh, wonderwall it is! "yea boy!" "guess were done, pub time"
