Have your opinions of the album changed since you first heard it?
For me, the initial excitement wearing off didn't spoil any of the songs. If anything, the songs that I didn't like at first (ITHOTM and The Mexican) have really grown on me. My two favourite songs were Riverman and The Right Stuff and they're probably both still are.

Those two songs have grown on me too after hearing how good they're live My two favourites were Riverman, which still is,and Lock All The Doors which have been surpassed by The Dying Of The Light and Ballad Of The Mighty I (TUUUUUUUUUNE)
I thought the positive opinion I had on the album was to a certain extent due to the excitement for Noel finally releasing new material after years, but I love it even more now,ut's just a fantastic record from start to finish

The last sentence there is exactly my thinking as well.

Exactly, and the thing is I actually liked it after the first listen, but it still keeps getting better and better every time,I love how everything in that song flows so well with the rest, the guitar solo, the melody, the lyrics, the production,Marr's outro they're all good taken aside, but they're perfect when put together

The Right Stuff was a huge surprise for me - its possibly the best song Noel has put out in a LONG time - its different and its great. I'd love to see Noel do more stuff like it, more long mostly instrumental songs with minimal vocals.
Riverman is awesome, I actually like the instrumental version of Ballard of the Mighty I better than the album version with lyrics.

I thought I'd be skipping tracks by now but surprisingly I'm not. I've been listening to it constantly on my iPod when I'm out and about and haven't got bored of it yet.
A friend of mine, who isn't much of fan of anything Oasis, told me she's become obsessed with Noel since hearing The Ballad of the Mighty I. She's repeatedly watching the video (to the point her 2 year old daughter is singing along to it) and says Noel's even become her latesr crush.

I have an hours commute each way to work everyday on the bus and have the earphones in all the time. Usually when one of my favourite artists has anew album out I try to give it a week of solid play with nothing else. Always have the initial excitement-bias and grow weary after a week, sometimes a fortnight - this is at least 2 full plays a day remember, but was just thinking the other day how over a month is now up (since the leak) and it, for me, is actually getting stronger and stronger. I genuinely don't skip a single track. I haven't even moved onto shuffle yet as I think it is just great the way it is.
WTSRTS was the stand out on first listen for me, still love it. Riverman and TRS were 2 that I wasn't totally sold on at first but love them both now too.

Good job from Noel on this album. Very solid record.

Only things that have changed for me, is that ITHOTM seems too slow now for some odd reason, and that the general feel of the album depresses me a bit if I listen to it too much. I suppose its more of an autumn album than a spring album. Maybe Beady’s Here Now agrees?

I now love everything on it, but I must say I don't often listen to the full thing. TGWXRE was initially my favourite, but I now often forget about it. The Mexican has grown on me a lot.

1 month later:
Riverman is the best.
Lock All The Doors, Ballad of the Mighty I, The Dying of the Light and The Right Stuff all fantastic.
Really don't care much for the rest, usually skip them.
Love the bonus tracks though.

The girl with X-ray eyes was my favourite on first listens. But that's dropped down the pecking order to a point where I skip it.
Highest climber is YKWCGB
Riverman isn't my favourite. But now I have to like it as Noel dedicated it to my wife for her birthday at the Rivoli Ballroom - so would be wrong not to now

Still loving it and my most favourite songs from the album are The Dying of The Light and Riverman. I love this album more than the first one. Quality album.

BOTMI was my initial favourite. Now I would go with the riverman or YKWCGB. Still think think BOTMI is great, mind you.

My opinion hasn't changed much at all. Girl With XRay Eyes, While The Song Remain The Same and The Mexican are the weakest tracks, but they've all grown on me quite a bit.
Riverman, The Right Stuff, You Know We Can't Go Back still remain as my top favorites.

Every song is worth listening to in some sort of way, and has some allure to it, which is what I love. While I'm still not sure what the overall tone & context of the album is, because of how it seems a bit dark, but then it's also rather upbeat & Noel's having fun, I think Noel was right when he said that you could place certain songs next to each other, and you would think of the album in 3-4 different ways (jazz, Britpop-like, dance-y, and rock come to mind).
Favorites: While the Song Remains the Same, The Dying of the Light, The Right Stuff, and Lock All the Doors
Least Favorites (still like them though): The Girl With X-Ray Eyes and The Mexican (love the riff and horns)
I also like how you wouldn't think In the Heat of the Moment would fit well at all within the context of the album at all, but yet, Riverman flows quite smoothly into it, and ITHOTM flows well in TGWXRE. Kudos to Noel on that.
Noel is definitely on top form, and the only problem I have with it is that Do the Damage isn't the opener to make the album 11 tracks long. Otherwise, I'd give it a 9/10 after a month.

I like lot of albums and songs but only few of them give me emotions. Mainly songs from Oasis and The Stone Roses.
This one gives me emotions. That's the main difference between CY and NGHFB for me. You Know We Can't Go Back gives me emotions, so While the Song Remains the Same, Riverman, The DYing of the Light (not the album version, sorry, the classic acoustic version from RTE), Lock All the Doors and Riverman as well as Ballad of the Mighty I.

After having listened to it now for a month, I know the songs in more detail than I did originally.
The melodies and structures of the the songs are all really strong - whereas on the first album there was mid-tempo ballad sort of songs interspersed with stuff in the vein of The Importance Of Being Idle, this album seems much more diverse.
Another thing I've noticed is not only do most of the songs contain a guitar solo, they're all really good too, they all add something to their song.
Still very happy with this album, not lost any appeal at all.
