I've been pleasantly surprised with this thread. As space75gr said, it hasn't turned into the BE vs CY thread I thought it would but has actually become a BE appreciation thread, which is excellent.

I'm another one of those. While I do like NGHFB and especially CY, it just does not connect with me in the way Beady Eye, both albums - or Oasis - did/does. For me, that's a purely emotional thing, music.

Kind of just hit me, but listening to the Abbey Road Acoustic Sessions performance of Ballroom Figured made me realize what a brilliant little song that is, despite the arguable Noel references. I can't remember how the album version sounds off hand, since it's been awhile and a Youtube search of it came to no avail, but if it's anything like the sessions performance, then that's pretty cool. I love Ballroom Figured. The vocal melody and delivery by Liam, it's just amazing. It was one of my favourite upon release of the album and still is. Just Liam and an acoustic guitar. Beautiful song.

An excellent vocal from Liam as well.

I really like Ballroom Figured too,i remember it getting a lot of hate when it came out,but it's a great acoustic tune, simple yeah, but full of emotions And I actually think that nowadays Liam's voice suits this kind of songs more than it suits the heavier tunes

their Sergent Pepper would have closed with
10. Ballad Of The Might I 11. Ballroom Figured
(maybe other lyrics..or not)

just listened to Ballroom Figured, the bit about 'some people change/move out of range' totally kills the song. was perfect till then.. just need to fade it with the Let's go and thats it!
but I'm no Dave Sitek. and Sitek is no me.

their Sergent Pepper would have closed with 10. Ballad Of The Might I 11. Ballroom Figured (maybe other lyrics..or not) The only thing that needs changing is the "Did you ever loan me that song" line because that points to a possible slam at Noel. Besides that, the lyrics are good, and I think it would've gone better ahead of BOTMI, imo.

Right now, I'm attempting to make a club mix of Iz Rite.

I was going to make a continuous mix of Beady Eye and HFB songs, as I think most of them flow into each other quite well.
