I get what you're saying about Liam and Beady Eye in general and I do agree with both of you With Liam it feels like it all comes from the heart, and they seem to do things just following their instinct at times A song like Start Anew might sound unfinished and repetitive, but YOU KNOW that's just how it came to Liam,he didn't overthink it,same with Songbird and most of the songs he's written and I understand why one would like, music it's not just about talent, but also about feelings and emotions and Liam's able to transmit lots of them with both his singing and his writing
Noel works in a different way I think, all the people who have been in the studio with him say the same thing,he's always got a clear picture of what he wants in his mind, plus he's got a natural ability to craft melodies and put things together which could make his music sound like there's a lot of work behind it and even if he rarely admits it,he's quite a perfectionist when it comes to his own music But I wouldn't call it manufactured,it still feels natural and heartfelt to me,it's true that he knows doing things that way works and sells, but I feel like he actually does it that way cause that's the only way he really knows,it's always been like that,he's a clever fucker and he's the chief for a reason, but he's a fucking talented c unt first of all

I like both albums. They both have 6-7 great songs.
The 5 best ones on CY are better than the top 5 on BE, but... in the bonustracks BE destroys CY's ass.
And... here I'm pretty sure I'm alone, NGHFB is the weakest post-Oasis albums to me.

BE is my favourite post-Oasis album. Noels solo albums are obviously solid, but they are just more songs from a respected singer/songwriter and nothing more to me. There's something about BE that I Love but cant really describe. I think it's the combination of greatness and some weaknesses that makes it an interesting listen. Whereas CY, for example, is pretty much just 'good' all the way through.

I think BE would have been greatest if
1. Flick Of The Finger 2. Soul Love (Fades into next track) 3. The World's Not Set In Stone 4. Second Bite Of The Apple 5. Soon Come Tomorrow 6. Iz Rite 7. Evil Eye 8. Don't Brother Me 9. Shine A Light 10. Off At the Next Exit 11. Start Anew

I like it more than CY and for me there's no shame at all on this fact. Flick of the Finger is the best song of the decade for me, such a perfect tune.

I think in 30 years when people look back at the Gallaghers, Beady Eye will receive a lot more credit than what they do now.
I just think when the stigma of supposed poor sales and media propaganda is taken away and someone sits down and listens to all things Oasis/beady eye/noel they will sit well alongside everything

But that doesn't matter to me, because I know I'll still be listening until the day I die.

And when some newspapers or music sites, blogs, magazines will report something about Oasis there will be sidenotes about high flying birds and beady eye.

I just really love the organic atmosphere I feel when I listen to BE. Unfinished songs or not, they are still really interesting to me and the production is fantastic. All of the bonus tracks are excellent and an album like this would have been even more impressive imo:
Flick of the Finger Soul Love Second Bite of the Apple Girls in Uniform Soon Come Tomorrow I'm Just Saying Off At the Next Exit Iz Rite Back After the Break Evil Eye Start Anew

Why are the songs unfinished? Never had that feeling. They had written it so The songwriters Süd what they felt their song needed. They can not fullfill everybodies wishes.

Idk it's a thing that's been said on this forum a lot, that songs like Flick of the Finger are "unfinished" because it doesn't have a proper chorus or something like that.

Why does it need a proper chorus though? That's something else that sets Beady Eye apart from everyone else IMO. I think the quote used at the end of FOTF was also a nice philosophical touch. I'm pretty sure BOTMI doesn't have a 'proper' chorus either.

Tell you what, when Ballad Of The Mighty I leaked I played it quite often (obviously) and when it finished on came Ballroom Figured and it felt so natural, as if they should've been on the same album in that order. It's a real shame that Oasis were so locked up in their concept that they didn't evolve into a BE/CY type album, it could've been epic. As for who likes what, it doesn't really matter.

I think if the best songs were taken from DGSS, BE, NGHFB and CY and were produced into a new Oasis DOUBLE album, it would've been pretty amazing. Maybe Disc 1 would have been the more conventional Oasis sound and Disc 2 the psychedelic/experimental side. At least it would be appreciated by the real fans, fuck the critics. I would have happily waited 6 or 7 years for it.

Well, I love both BE and CY but can't compare till CY's been out a year.
A BE playlist I made when it came out, tossed a surprise Noel song in just cos it fit perfectly. And makes you miss him a little less.
Flick of the Finger Soul Love AKA...What a Life Second Bite Soon Some Tomorrow Iz Rite I'm Just Saying Girls in Uniform Shine a Light Ballroom Figured Start Anew

Kind of just hit me, but listening to the Abbey Road Acoustic Sessions performance of Ballroom Figured made me realize what a brilliant little song that is, despite the arguable Noel references. I can't remember how the album version sounds off hand, since it's been awhile and a Youtube search of it came to no avail, but if it's anything like the sessions performance, then that's pretty cool.

I regret coming to this thread. why? when i saw the title of that thread i thought that it could be a war BE VS NGHFB, but so far its a positive thread in a very good level, with people givin' some love to BE without fights and insults. i know that you dont agree, you can also say it here, but hey, let keep it coming for BE fans... nothing wrong with that.
