I was waiting to listen to this until a decent quality live video surfaced, so glad I waited. It was like hearing the song for the first time again. I think it moved me more than the original, which is pretty blasphemous.

Unbelievable this. So fucking good. He needs to dust off more classics and give them similar treatment. Slide Away and Listen Up spring to mind.

I was suggesting he did it like that Pretty Reckless version (dunno whether anyone read it from his camp haha), it's pretty good but for the billionth time I'd love to see Gem on stage with him doing the guitar bits. I think I'd prefer it if he kept to the original melody, the little changes don't sound quite as natural as the DLBIA and Wonderwall ones somehow. Still nice to see him sing it, I don't think I've ever heard him do it before this tour.

i don't know. the other day i was watching old oasis live vids and it struck me how good and powerfully and angry they acutally were compared to what noel does these days. all this "capo on 3rd fret watered down"-versions of don't look back in anger and champagne supernova and what have you are ok for a one off rendition, but they get boring very quickly.

The only one of those that gets boring is DLBIA, imo. Don't like that acoustic version at all. Come on Noel, rock out!
This, on the other hand, is amazing.

This is amazing. What a beautiful new version of this song! Can't wait to hear it live in two weeks!!!
Also, let's all stop comparing NGHFB live and oasis live. Noel Gallagher is no longer in Oasis. There is NO Oasis anymore. Apples and fucking oranges.

They're kind of disturbing in places. Especially as with that arrangement the vocal melody is even more central part of the song than in the original. I like the new version but it has its flaws though it will surely get better during the tour.

How does Tim Smith's toupee not itch? He did a great job with the solo, I really like the HFB version of the classic.

thing about the solo is Noel was free to improvise whenever he felt like. Noel was just jamming, he never felt like a lead guitarist anyway. Tim is just playing by the book and it gets boring. he's having his best moments on the new songs.
here is Noel sung version, from the Liam-less Chiago '96 gig. crazy

Why's he singing with an American accent?

I don't find this performance bad but it doesn't do a lot for me. American cringe with a change of melody that just makes you want to scream the original over it.

I loved the stripped version of supersonic though when I heard it last tour so perhaps I'm a hypocrite. No American vocals in that though
