"They say that you need love, just like a kid on crack". I'm 100% sure that if Beady Eye had come up with these lyrics they would have been crucified.

I heard it as "the truth is on your steady eyes" and then found out it was stereo - which is worse! As to answer - definitely Kid on Crack.

Well, she just likes to swallow I'm waiting for a brave soul to ask him how exactly he meant that line ... Or maybe we just have dirty minds? Well, it's about a one night stand, maybe it is meant to be dirty. It's incredibly gross btw

Huh, I actually really like "the truth is on your stereo" line. It adds to the Bowie feel of the song. Better than the "is my TV watching me" line in TDOYAM.
I vote for the kid on crack.

Am I the only one that doesn't actually mind the kid on crack line? Always makes me laugh when I hear it

"She shot me to the sun / like a bullet from a gun / and when the deed was done /in the morning she was gone". Terrible. Is he using the word "deed" for sex? That's cringeworthy by itself, and also the rhyme is a bit too lazy.

I like the tune itself, but it has to be 'like a kid on crack'. Although I'm not that arsed, the music is more important anyway.

The bus fare lyric isn't the worst. But its still typical Noel for me. Great song/melody with questionable lyrics at times

The bus fare lyric is metaphorical for not having what it takes.
I like it.

The lyrics on The Girl with X-Ray Eyes are really weird, but the song is very connected to the words. I mean, is really good listen to Noel singing this song, there is some swing/balance that I enjoy too much.

The bus fare lyric is metaphorical for not having what it takes. I like it. Is it really? I thought Noel literally couldn't afford the bus...

I find those lines in X-Ray eyes FAR more awkward and cringeworthy than the lyrics on The Mexican that everyone keeps going on about. The Mexican is a silly throwaway song. Do people go on about the lyrics of Digsy's Dinner and She's Electric too? I view the Mexican in the exact same vain as those songs. Can't really judge the lyrics on that one too harshly. It's a lot worse when a song that's meant to be "serious" has bad lyrics.

I don't think it's really meant to be serious. It's a song about a one night stand ffs.

Is any Noel Gallagher song meant to be taken that serious lyrically?

I really like The Mexican and don't care about the lyrics at all. TGWXRE has such a solemn vibe though - makes it hard not to cringe at lines like "it's hard to swallow like the pill/that was twisted on your tongue/by the seed of standing still". Not a coincidence that TGWXRE is by far my least favorite CY track right now.
