Most people here seem to hate 'You need love just like a kid on crack', but my vote for worst lyric is 'the truth is on your stereo'. What's yours?

"Truth is on your stereo" is mine as well. IMO The Girl with the X-Ray Eyes goes a bit over the line as far as cloying 60's pastiche is concerned.

kid on crack is the worst, but "As she swallowed space and time" is absolutely hilarious!

"Maybe I believe in magic, love, Find it in the moon and stars above" is really shit, embarrassingly cheesy. Great song though!!!!

Yeah lyrically it's the worst album he's ever written. Utter banality masquerading as profundity.

Yeah lyrically it's the worst album he's ever written. Utter banality masquerading as profundity. Nah, Heathen Chemistry is the worst by far. "We the people fight for our existence" "For smokin' all my stash / And burnin' all my cash" "Cos God gimme soul in your rock'n'roll babe"

"Shot me to the sun/like a bullet from a gun". Embarrassing.
In fact, X Ray Eyes is one of Noel's most atrocious sings lyrically - at best,it's a nice tune but it's sound is a 60s rip off yet again. When is someone gonna tell Noel mellotrons haven't been fashionable since the 60s?
Noel, go to your room and think about what you've done!

All in all, SOTSOG is a fairly shit album. Well,it contains 2 of the most hideous songs ever written anywhere, Little James and I Can See A Liar. It's only decent songs are RIO and GP. The rest it's fairly turgid.

I know there are a lot of jokes about it on here but I actually quite like Little James. The melody is solid, the production is far ahead of anything on Heathen Chemistry and it even has a guitar solo. The lyrics seem to be the main thing that put people off this song and, although are there a a couple of questionable lines, I think they receive unfair criticism. "I'm signing this song for you and your mum and that's all." This was never meant to be a song that was going to change the world but it was Liam's first solo effort and that makes it a very important song.

Never mind it's place in Oasis history, its a terrible Beatles rip off. On the other hand, I forgot about FITB which is excellent.

Heathen Chemistry for the worst lyrics. Force of Nature? Probably All in the Mind? She is Love? Hung in a Bad Place? Better Man? FUCKING CHRIST.

If LJ would've been a B-side, not a single person would complain about it as badly as how it eventually came to be.

I can't believe nobody's gone for the obvious one.
"Woke up stinking on a train that was bound for Norway"

"Something in the way she moves..." I am glad Riverman doest got any beatleesque stuff in it(or Dave Sardy) because if it did that would be shamefull for Noel(and a easy target for critics who hat noel/oasis).
