"Maybe I believe in magic love, I find it in the moon and stars above"
*Cringe*
I actually like the lyrics of TGWXRE. I think it's a clever way to describe a one night stand.
Oh and of course the kid on crack lyric. Yuck.

swallowed space and time line is actually my favorite on the album I love that line My least favourite is "but I can't afford the bus fare" Me too, it's as bad if not worse then the "kid on crack line". At least Kid on Crack was probably just for a laugh.

I agree with everyone who said "kid on crack", although other than that I like all the lyrics on the album. Noel's lyrics have never been really insightful or anything anyway. They're only a few bands with really interesting lyrics, and for me, the lyrics are always secondary anyway... unless they are amazing. It's hard to pull off great music and thoughtful, intelligent lyrics and have it sounds catchy. So I just kind of take them for what they are.

Yeah lyrically it's the worst album he's ever written. Utter banality masquerading as profundity. Yeah, because Noel Gallagher's lyrics have always been profound. Give me a break! spud acting like a moron again. To me the worst lyric is definitely the "kid on a crack" line. I'm not a great fan of X-Ray Eyes either, but there's plenty of very good lyrics in other songs (Mighty I, WTSRTS)

The "I'm shaking like a leaf" line on X-Ray Eyes makes me cringe very badly, im cringing thinking about it now.

"Hard to swallow like a pill"
Assuming the pills in question are paracetamol size or maybe even smaller, there's very little difficulty in swallowing such items. Maybe if he were to revise the lyrics, "hard to swallow like a brick" may be more accurate.

My least favorite lyrics are any that mention the weather or rain, oh wait... that's pretty much all the songs on the album then!

Well,it contains 2 of the most hideous songs ever written anywhere, Little James and I Can See A Liar. It's only decent songs are RIO and GP. The rest it's fairly turgid. I know there are a lot of jokes about it on here but I actually quite like Little James. The melody is solid, the production is far ahead of anything on Heathen Chemistry and it even has a guitar solo. The lyrics seem to be the main thing that put people off this song and, although are there a a couple of questionable lines, I think they receive unfair criticism. "I'm signing this song for you and your mum and that's all." This was never meant to be a song that was going to change the world but it was Liam's first solo effort and that makes it a very important song. I too share a love for Little James. And I happen to enjoy some of the lyrics, not all, probably not even most but some. "Thank you for your smile, you make it all worth while to us." Beautiful and touching. But this album from Noel does feature some bad lines. TGWXRE is definitely one of his worst lyrical endeavors. It's only saved by that cool solo and offbeat melody.

Pretty much all of X-Ray Eyes.
Also, I love Riverman but the lyrics for the chorus could be so much better IMO.

"Something in the way she moves..." I am glad Riverman doest got any beatleesque stuff in it(or Dave Sardy) because if it did that would be shamefull for Noel(and a easy target for critics who hat noel/oasis). I love the delivery of that line so much, I really can't hate it.

Same. When I read the lyrics I was like ''erm..'' but when I heard it I loved it. The melody, and the vocal harmonies on that are great.

All the lyrics are brilliant except for the verses of Lock All The Doors. They're shit.

"the truth is on your stereo" is the weirdest one for me.
I don't mind silly lyrics that much. Most of the time I just go with the flow of the melody and do't quite pay attention, until I read them on the booklet and think 'uh, definitely not what I heard...'

I usually don't give much about lyrics, but there is definitely a bit too much swallowing going on in "Girl with X-ray eyes". It's not that lovely a word to use it twice in the same song.
